"Was that a Knight Errant drone that just exploded?" asked Jean-Paul as he reviewed the recording that Jamon had made. Jamon had set up a surveillance suite across the street from the penthouses of Ale'i, and had been present for the attempted robbery. "Yes, but under the circumstances, it was probably advised. At this point Knight Errant were beginning to respond to emergency calls from inside the building." Jamon noted "I see. And who, exactly, is this male ork? We didn’t hire him." "It appears he brought along transport to the task. The redheaded woman, Irish, isn’t she? She was not there. He is possibly a fill in?" "I see. And you say at this point DocWagon and Knight Errant were en route? And Hard Corps was already on site?" "Yes. Its a wonder they got out at all, really." "Go back to the initial entry." Jamon changed files, instead playing back his eye camera recording. It showed two women...the mage and the decker, dressed casually, milling about the front door to the apartment building, then into the garage, and back out, and then down a side alley. "I think, perhaps, we will not be using this team again, Jacques. And find out who that ork is." Jean-Paul's phone began to ring, and he took it from his jacket, looking at the caller-id. "Ah, the Bishop. Well, here we go then..." He answered the call. Jamon could hear the Bishop's loud, and unhappy voice from where he sat. This was probably about the death of one of the Ale'i members, it had already aired on the news. Jean-Paul had made certain that a Cross News reporter was ready, incase something happened. It always paid to be the first one to get to spin the story. Jean-Paul hung up. "Our friend is not happy people have died." "How surprising." "In any case, we still need to get a copy of that Black IC. See that it happens. Oh, and Jacques?" "Yes?" "The Christmas ball will be held here this year. We need to be on the lookout for trouble." Jean-Paul warned. Jean-Marie, head of the Seraphim, and Nicholaus Aurelius, along with the board members were all going to be in town for it. It presented others with an opportunity to deal with the heads of Cross outside of Quebec. It did, every year. "Here? Already? They are being a bit eager, aren’t they? We don’t have a reliable network here yet and frankly, we don’t have any locations guaranteed for security. Most security here is done by Ares owned companies!" complained Jamon. Damien Knight was no fool, and this was a golden opportunity to get some payback, both Cross and Ares delighted in making each other's lives miserable. "I know. I already mentioned this to Jean-Marie. You know what she said?" "Something like 'I'll trust you'll handle it'?" Jean-Paul nodded. "Merde" Jamon said with a sigh. Life is about to get busy. |
