| SSPRP Plot Arc : "Ambition" This plot arc is a series of plots that people can apply to run. To apply, just @mail me (Acordo) with what run you'd like to GM, and if its not taken you can have it. You will be expected to make some sort of theme post/rumour after running the plot, depending on outcome. Circumstances allowing, I'll get to run one or more of these plots personally. Background : Currently in Denver, there's a steady balance between the Italian and Japanese mafia. This balance is one of neccessity, to make roads into one anothers markets is difficult, and the police in Denver (being composed largely of military and ex-military personell) have been somewhat hard to work with, and around. So, as a result, open fighting between major family factions is pretty rare. See www.oocities.org/xallen2002/sof1.html for a link on the Denver Org status. However, this doesnt mean that everyone is happy where they are. As always, there is always someone who wants to upsetthe powers that be and make a grab for a bigger share of the pie. This time, its a young lion by the name of Harry Castellana, heir to the Castellana family (one of the ten or so major families that are alligned with Don Innocenti) who's got the hunger in his belly. Plot #1: "Prelude" Castellana knows that his plans for making himself, and his family more of a power player in Denver is going to take some serious funding. He needs money, and he needs it pretty quickly. Harry needs to keep it quiet, too, though, so he's gone outside the usually batch of goons to the local freelancers. There's a semitrailer coming in bound for Denver's Downtown, supplying a number of chain stores with the latest Yamatseu game console. Divert it, with minimal damage to cargo, to a warehouse where he can offload the goods and he'll pay your team 60 grand. Plot #2 : "Genesis" Castellana knows that taking on the Don, the yakuza, or even some of the larger allied families in a grab for power is impossible without the support, money, and territory to back it up. He also knows its much easier to squeeze the smaller fish first, too. Still unwilling to use his Uncle's men, he contracts outside for a group of runners to break into a Seoulpa Rings illicit software factory, running out of a house, basement or apartment. Killing the operators and destroying their hardware is a must, getting their already-manufactured chips and bringing them to Castellana's worth a bonus. 50 grand, + 10k bonus for the existing batches of chips. Plot #3 : "Harry's Gambit" Harry Castellana has been making quiet little noises to select people on the street about his operations, blaming them on his Uncle. Now, the first major gamble and first major test of his limits is about to occur. Illinov, a Castellana Family hitter, always leaves a signature throwing knife near the body as a calling card, regardless of how the victim dies. Harry has one of these knives. For 60 thousand nuyen, the runners need to take this knife, kill the head of a Chinatown Triad gang, and then leave the knife near the body, making sure no one knows its not Illinov himself who performed this dastardly act. Plot #4 : "Payback" Yin of the White Lotus has now got word on the Illinov connection. However, he's not so sure who to come after on this, as the failed assassination attempt looked like an attempt to frame. Harry is also mad at the failed attempt foiling his master plan, but has recieved word that Yin is bringing in a team of hitters from Hong Kong, and he's paying 90 thousand nuyen for a group of PCs to eliminate all but one of these hitters, making sure the last one can crawl away and report back that it was an italian group that did it. Plot #5 : "Magnum, PI" Don Innocenti is worried at the recent turn of events, and is now looking into the issue personally. Worried about escalating tensions between his gang and the Triads due to an outside influence, the Don decides to play diplomacy while getting some intelligence. So, the Don is offering up 35k to the person(s) who can bring him proof of who hired the hitmen to kill the Triad gang leader, or the Triad hit squad. Plot #6 : "Oppurtunity Knocks" It was really too much to hope for that the Yakuza would stay out of things. But with the Italian families looking at each other with mistrust, the Osaka twins sense a real oppurtunity to move in and make inroads on some markets without the fast acting opposition that a united italian family under the Don provides. Alicia Starr, also known as "Nurse Betty" is one of the more profitable mafia-controlled porn stars. Its time she got a new agent. Why? Becuase the Yakuza are going to pay you 75 grand to deal with her existing agent and any bodyguards, taking her from her FTZ penthouse and handing her (undamaged) to the Yakuza, that's why. She wont like the idea at first, but they're sure to persuade her once they can have a face to face chat. Plot #7 : "Water on the Boil" It seems that there's been a migration to mexico, because in recent times a few jobs have gone south. Low profile jobs have become high profile disasters, and the Don still doesnt know who is behind the attempted assassinations. What he does know, however, is that things are starting to get out of hand. In an attempt to divert disaster, the Don is sending his Liason, William Lovety, to meet with a similarly ranked man in the Yakuza. Harry, however, knows of this. Peace does not help him. He has hired a man of asian decent to secretly watch the meet, and help make sure it ends with both sides killing each other. The PCs are hired by the Liason as bodyguard detail. Payment for one nights bodyguarding is 90 grand. Protect the Liason. Plot #8 "Out of the Frying Pan" Word on the street is that there's a phantom instigator causing the troubles between the Yakuza, Italian Mafia and Triads. While not everyone believes it completely, many believe it enough to start spending money on the issue. The Yakuza have hired a reputable bounty hunter to track this person down, and this has made Harry nervous. The bounty hunter is good, and has nailed his kind in the past. 120 grand is being offered up to find the bounty hunter, who uses the alias "Rex McDaniels" and eliminate him. Treat the Bounty Hunter as an 'Equal' NPC. |
