Security Details, Engineering Building. External : There are 3 automated cameras on rotating sweeps covering the exits of the building. These are linked to motion-recognition software, which in turn alerts the security desk of any suspect movement after hours. The cameras are controllable by remote matrix connection, and can rotate 160 degrees (left/right) x 45 degrees (up/down) and zoom There is a line of pressure pads immediately in front of the outer vestibule doors, not linked to the alarm system but alert security desk if triggered. First Floor : Vestibule (towards the bottom) is main entrance. This double set of doors have been replaced with rating 10 plexi-glass (they’re thick) and the locks are Type 2 (rtg 4-6) with anti-tamper 4, set to the central Matrix security hub. Triggering these locks several ‘sensitive’ areas from opening until system reset, as well as the vestibule doors, and other exits. This can be overridden with a system reset. Immediately inside the vestibule the open area is bathed in ultrasound motion detectors, type II (rating 4-6), connected to the matrix network. Triggering these will also automatically seal the above locks. There is a watcher usually placed in this open area. Rooms on first floor with motion detectors : Auditorium, robotics, structures lab, design lab. Storage also (see top of drawing). Two guards are stationed on this level. Guards are linked back to the security desk via rtg 4 commlinks with headpieces. Guards carry SMG + taser and a nitestick/flashlight and light armour. Guards carry radio badges at all times, receivers are placed around the floor to allow guards to walk into ‘secure’ areas without triggering alarms or having to turn them off. There is an automated turret (Colt M-23 with belt feed) attached to the bottom of the Mezzanine walkway, covering the lobby in floor 1. It has a 360 x 60 degrees (down only) field of rotation, and is only active when an alert is triggered. It takes ten seconds (3 combat turns) to power up once alert is triggered. Second Floor : Central Security is located on this level. Inside central security are the security terminals for meat security. Matrix, rigger and magic security are from remote location. The guards have access to an armoury consisting of AS-7 Assault shotguns, as well as heavier types of ammo…gel and standard are typically taken while on normal duty to avoid collateral damage. Motion detectors are located in several of the offices, the Computer Lab and Classroom, and SCAD lab. There are a total of 5 guards on this level, 2 patrolling and 3 in the central security room at any one time. All wear badges. Third Floor : Conference Rooms, offices of the directors, their secretaries, Samjenko’s office, as well as files, the labs, and the radar room all have motion detectors. Pressure pads are located in Samjenko’s office, and the directors offices, inside the doors. There is an automated turret (M-23 with belt feed) located above the Mezzanine walkway on this level. It has a 360 x 60 degrees (down only) field of rotation, and is only active when an alert is triggered. It takes ten seconds (3 combat turns) to power up once alert is triggered. Two guards patrol this area. General Notes : Roof access : Roof access can be granted to level three via a roof access hatch, this is located above the circular stairwell. Keypad lock, Type II, antitamper 4. Use of the side, emergency stairwells is linked to the general fire alarm. Air-conditioning ducts run throughout the building, access to the ducts is via the roof. Special gear (climbing harnesses) are required to traverse between floors quietly, (smooth, vertical shaft) and located at the access point and at the majority of man-sized vents are laser tripwires, the dimensions of which are known. Samjenko’s office can be accessed by vent, however this vent is only 1 foot x ½ foot (30 x 15 cms). Opening the access requires a basic tool kit or an electronics tool kit. All interior locks are type II with no antitamper, all office locks are passkey, lab locks are keypad, the central security is passkey. Unless otherwise stated, triggering of electronic security triggers a building alert (except in the case of exterior electronic security, which only alerts human operators. All maglock openings are logged, if passkey lock, the user ID on the passkey lock is also logged. This log is not necessarily monitored Real Time by security personell. Triggering the fire alarms will reset the security system. Halon gas is typically released in rooms where the fire alarms are triggered. This gas is inert, a room flooded with Halon gas will not allow guns to fire, and people inside without air supply will asphixiate. The entire compound has rigger support in the form of patrolling airborne ‘Dues’ drones. However, the patrol area also includes portions of the residential area, making drone cover mainly anti-air rather than for ground surveillance. Each of the larger buldings in the research compound (including the target building) have a 5-launcher SAM missile launcher, rigger controlled. Central rigger radar is located on the roof of the engineering building, Flux 8. |
