DOWN TO EARTH I remember seeing this at a convention in 1988. Unfortunately, I barely remember the film in serious detail. I don't even remember what year it came out (I believe it was 1944... I think.) Anyways, the simple romantic plot went along the same pattern of Xanadu; they meet, they create, they're forced to break up and they make up with some nice songs thrown in for good measure. The ending in 'Earth' had a different angle, they are forced to break up but then she stays in heaven and is shown her lover entering heaven as an old man from the future, she is thrilled and dances away in joy.
