I "picked" this iris from a garden center's site, removed the background and extended the stem slightly. Then I brought it forward with a slight bevel around the edges and added a top-light to really bring out the beautiful colors.  Then I cut-and-pasted it onto a lovely background and "buttonized" the whole thing!
Did this rose in the same way but increased the beveled edge to make it more 3-D.
I couldn't find a picture of a lioness, so I settled for this lion, instead.  Removed the background and softened a few of the colors...
Next, I removed the mane and had to work on the face a bit to make it a little more "feminine..."
She is still a work in progress...having some difficulties with the eyes, as I'd like them to be green to go with my poem "Lair of the Lioness"
I wanted a graphic of the fabled "Rainbow Bridge" that animals cross over when they die to enjoy their afterlives and await the arrival of their earthly human companions.  Since I couldn't find anything I liked, I decided to make my own!  I picked up this graphic on a clipart site.
I removed the stones and inserted a rainbow background in the empty space.  A little wispy spray-painting around the edges and some 3-D text and a custom frame...and VOILA!
This graphic, by the way is for the WAGS website, as a memorial page for the therapy animals who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
This is the nursing emblem...caduceus, I believe it's called.  Anyway, I again couldn't find what I wanted so I took this symbol off a nursing site.  (It was all one color when I started, and I changed the colors so it would be easier to dissect the image...unfortunately, I forgot to save the original image.)
I literally took the image apart, increased the size of the wings and then made each part 3-dimensional with an outer bevel.  Then I took all the pieces and put them back together.  Sounds easy enough, but it was pretty tedious working with the two serpents, since they are intertwined!!
I also did the image in silver...was easier once I knew how to do it!!  Pasted it atop a background and added the text, and I had what I was looking for!
