Ahh, the Eighties. Shoulder pads, leg-warmers, big hair and neon colours. When women looked like linebackers and Boy George looked like a woman. Way back when Michael Jackson was still a young black man. If you grew up in the Eighties you probably remember when computers were NOT a household item, and those Motorola flip-phones were only a thing they had on Star Trek. If you watched any TV at all you likely remember Morris Day and the Time, and watching Jerome hold that mirror while Morris primped. "Walk the Dinosaur" was not only played all over the place but people actually started doing "the Dinosaur" when it was played. "Boom Boom, acka lacka boom boom" sound familiar to anyone? Flashdance, Fame and Footloose all had their day in the 80's, back when Sean Penn was getting Pizza in class as Jeff Spicoli at Ridgemont High. Adam Ant was still a swashbuckling "Goody Two Shoes", not a faux-gun waving, pot bellied nutter with grey hair and a wardrobe Dr. Who would envy. Somehow, those of us who were there survived, and for that (and recognizing Def Leppard lyrics when you see them) I have created the above award!
