Chapter 6: Memory

We'll start by talking about long-term memory, which is on the outline from last class period.

Two main kinds of memory:
   * Explicit/Declarative memory: Searching memory on purpose / can be described verbally
           - Episodic memory: Factual information
           - Semantic memory: General, abstract knowledge

The main difference may be in levels of abstraction

->Prototypes: Idealized representations, average of category members

   * Implicit/Procedural memory: Memory is used unintentionally / cannot be described verbally
           - Procedural memory: Memory about movements
           - Priming: Recent perceptions influence memory
