Attachment: strong emotional bond between infant and caregiver
     Primary drives theory: attachment associated with satisfaction of primary drives and being who satisfies them
     Harlow: attachment is a species-specific predisposition with survival value

     Strange situation test:
          Securely attached kids use caregiver as secure base; freely explore environment; parental responsiveness is high
          Avoidant kids don't cry when caregiver leaves and are slow to greet them when they return; parental responsiveness is low
          Ambivalent kids first seek confort and then avoid caregiver; parental responsiveness is inconsistent
