*A/N: I know that in the show, Inuyasha isn't able to remove his necklace, but let's stretch the truth just a little. Let's pretend that he can take it off…just for this story* ~~~~*~~~~ A lasting Impression ~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~ Inuyasha was about to go into battle. Kagome was hurt but very aware of what was going on. Inuyasha wanted to leave a lasting impression on Kagome before he left. -------------*------------- "Here have this" Inuyasha said taking off his necklace and handing it to Kagome. "Why are you giving this to me?" Kagome looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I want you to have something of me to remember me by…" he said looking down and closing his eyes. "Inuyasha…what do you mean??" she looked at him in distress, holding on to the necklace tightly. "I'm going out there, into battle, and…I might not…make it back…" he said as though he was in pain, (emotionally in pain). "INUYASHA! DON'T SAY THAT! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE IT BACK!!" Kagome said crying. "Kagome…you don't know that…either way…keep that with you…and don't forget me" he said with a weak smile. "NO!…I can't take this…you're coming back! I know you are…I believe in you…" she said crying and holding the necklace out to him. He walked up to her and gently pushed her hand towards her. He wrapped both hands around her hand and said, "Listen…don't get your hopes up…I might or might not come back…but for now, I have to go…" he let go of her hand and started walking away. Kagome opened her hand and looked at the necklace. She put it close to her chest and looked at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha wait!" He stopped and looked back. He saw her with tears in her eyes, next thing he knew, she was running up to him and then she threw her arms around him. "Inuyasha! You can't go!!" she said squeezing him and crying with her head on his chest. "Why not!?" he said in frustration and shock. "Because…because…I love you too much to let you go just like that!!!!!" He gasped in shock and tears formed in his eyes. "Inuyasha! I love you! I love you! I can't let you go!!! Don't you understand!?!" He relaxed himself and slowly put his arms around her. Kagome slowly lifted her head and looked at him. He just starred at her with a comforting face. "Kagome…I…I…" "Yes, Inuyasha. *sniff* you what?…" "I…I love you too Kagome! I love you!" he said hugging her tightly. "Oh Inuyasha!" she hugged him back. He looked at her and smiled. "Kagome I wan-mm!" he said being cut off by Kagome's kiss. His eyes were wide but slowly closed as he felt the warmth of her lips against his. He hugged her and kissed back. Soon they parted and she looked at him and said, "Let's leave" His small ears stood strait up and confusingly he said, "Huh? What do you mean?" "Us…I'm not gonna let you go out there. We're leaving right now! And no one's gonna know!" "I CAN'T! I'm the one that they're expecting out there! They'll think I gave up and think I'm a coward!" "You've proved yourself enough! You don't need to give up your life just to prove what you've already proven! … I rather them consider you a coward than losing you forever…" He starred into her eyes and kissed her once more. He parted from her then said, "And that's why I love you…you actually care for me…even after all the stuff I've said and done to you…no one has ever cared for me this way…I've …never felt this way about anyone!" "What about Kikyo…?" she said with a slight frown "She was different…this is a completely different feeling…Kagome…I love you…" "I love you too Inuyasha…" They kissed again. After that, he agreed to leave with her. She took him to her world and to her home. She took him into her bedroom, he laid down on her bed and said, "I'm glad I came with you" "Really?" she said with a smile "Yea" he said with a smile Inuyasha closed his eyes. Kagome laid down next to him and started to stroke his hair and Inuyasha slowly fell asleep.
