Card 3: Sinister Serpent
Effect Monster
Level: 1
Type: Reptile
Attribute: Water
Attack: 300
Defence: 250
During your standby Phase, if a Sinister Serpent exists in your Graveyard, you can return the Sinister Serpent to your hand.

At first glance, this card looks like it dosen't even deserve a place on this page. The true power of this card, however, emerges when used in combos. Combos, specifically, that involve another card discarding something from your hand to the graveyard as a price for it's effect. Simply discard this card, and you get it back to use again! There are many cards that can be comboed with this, such as Graceful Charity, Tribute to the Doomed, Card Destruction and Relinquished. If that isn't enough, this card can be discarded when your opponent activates delinquent duo, weakening it's effect.
There are so many situations this card can give you a +1 in. Without those cards, however, this card's effect is lessened, restricting it only to being used as a tribute and as a defence-position staller every turn. Unfortunatly, it's one of those cards that increase your lead but are just wasting your draw if you need a topdeck to survive. It's also restricted to one, so building a deck round this card isn't going to be an option. Still, it fits perfectly into a Jigsaw deck.

+ Can be used to stall
+ Can be used to lessen costs of useful spells
+ Half-Wastes opponent's discard spells

- Can be a dead draw
- Restricted to 1

Overall, can be a recurring nightmare for your opponent, and increases the usefulness of your own cards. Great to have in many decks.
