YAXI : Yet another Xena inconsistancy
'Chariots of War'
Toward the end of the episode Xena beings to gather up her stuff ready to fight the warlord. She picks up her sword but a breeze blows the blue dress she was wearing in the scene before over her Chakram so she dosen't see it and leaves it behind. When she reaches Gabrielle there's a shot of Xena from a distance and you can see she had her Chakram by her side. It cuts from distance shot to closes ups a few times and three times you can see she still has her chakram with her. When it comes to the Chariot fight she reaches down to her side to find that her Chakram is missing and even shouts to Gabrielle that she hasn't got it with her. When they crash and its time for hand to hand just at the right moment the village guy turns up with it in his hand. Her Chakram is left behind and yet manages to reach her when she finds Gabrielle then disapears again when it comes to moment she needs it then its brought back to her to use. Xena's Chakram's boomerang ability is truly amazing.
'Ties That Bind' (NEW 31/5/06)
Watch it this morning (31/5/06) on Tv and noticed that at the end when Ares throws a sword its magicaly changes twice. Ares trhows XEnba's sword at her, cut to the next shot of it in the aird and its a different balde and hilt (not Xena's) and when it cuts to a close up of Xena's the sword in mid air is her's again.
Also I think that in the fight scene with Stevan Lovatts Character her sword is bent. Not sure, gonna have to get the tapes out for that one.
'Callisto'
This is one of a few episodes in the first season which gives the impression that Gabrielle can magicaly change her clothes in a split second. While on thier way to stop Callisto they meet Joxer who tries to offer his servies as a warrior Gabrielle is wearing her brown lace up bodice but as they part company with Joxer theres one shot or two of them walking away in which Gabrielle is wearing a totaly different outfit - The long blue village girl dress with the jacket type thing. The next shot, I think a Close up, and the rest of the Episode she is again wearing the brown outfit that she was wearing at the begining of the episode.
'The Execution'
In the scene towards the end of the episode when Meleager is 'Dead' if you watch his hands closely you can just about see that one of his fingers moves slightly. Maybe Meleager needs to take some acting lessons from Gabrielle on how to play dead.
'One Agaist and Army'
I'm not really sure this is a mistake or weather its something to look out for but when Xena tells Argo to go if you look at Argos front leg just under the mane you will see branded the numbers 22 or 24 and 8.
I noticed the mark on the front leg while the horse was standing still and just made it out as the numbers above when I had a closer look at the screen.
This is not realy a mistake either but its kinda revelaing to how they do the battle wounds and stuff on the show I've stuck it here for now. At the end fight scene when Xena is on the roof a soilder cuts her on the upper arm. Its been done well but If you look closely the wounds appers a few seconds before the blow is made. It happends so quick you hardly notice it .
'Succession'
In the second shot with Xena is fighting the five bad guys all on her own, even though Gabrielle is saying she wants to help, you may notice that when Xena does a kick, I think its to the third Bad guy, she's wearing her old outfit with her old Chalkram at her side for a split second.
The problem is that for this episode and for most of the fifth season she has a new out fit and the new 'yin yang' Chalkram.
I think there is another mistake in this ep which is reappering and disappering cuts. Near to the begining of the ep xena recieves a blow just over the eye, I think its above the right. During the ep this wound seems to disappear and reappear its not that clear because its right under her hair line. I might need to re check this one again.
'The Haunting of Amphipolis'
This one is harder to spot then the others, as it happens at the very, very, edge of your screen. It took me a lot of time rewinding the tape and pausing the shot so I could get right up to the my tv screen to see it. I had to check it again just before I started writing it it up!.
After Gabrielle was dragged in to, what only can be discribed as a 'soup', under the floor by demonds, she has a shower to wash the gunk off as it's burning her.
The frist shot to the clip is of Gabrielle shivering in the shower. Then it cuts to Xena and then back to Gabby asking 'What's causing this'.
This is the cue for the 'Reappering gauntlet' trick.
When it cuts to Xena we see that she has taken her gauntlets off to prevent them getting wet. We cut next to Gabby for the second time we can still see Xena's arms.
It's here we can see, at the bottom of our screens, part of Xena's Gauntlet not just the once, but twice it come up in this shot. Ok she might have put them on again in that split second but the next shot Xena is telling the others the fate of her mother she has to turn away and wipe her face, because she is close to tears, and we see that she has taken them off again.
Try and spot that one next time you break the video out of its case. Make sure though have a lot of time to spare as it might take you a while!
'The God You Know' (NEW)
This mistake totaly passed me by as you have to look closely to see it as its all about who owns the shadow. in ths scene Xena, pretending to be Saba the Celtic Goddess of Sex, is asking Caligula why he prefers Ahprodite over her. They begin walking down a candle lit corridor and while Xena tries to sudue Caligula they tango. If you look on the wall and pillars behind them you can make out a single shadow. You could easly pass it by as Xena's or Cal's but if you pause the shot and look at it proberly you can see that it is bending down slightly. In fact is one of the Crew trying to stay out of the shot!

'Soul Possession'
Here's a much easier mistake to spot.
When Xena and Joxer are walking down a path talking, you can see, as clear as day, she has her new Chalkram by her side. The problem is, is that this scene (and the whole ep) is ment to be set in the past and should fit in between season 3 and season 4 BEFORE she got the new 'Yin Yang' Chalkram.
