Eco Action is an organization developed to help lead the students of Saltsburg Middle High School towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle. It is a student inspired group that has so far been responsible for Saltsburg's new paper, plastic and aluminum recycling program, electronics recylcling, annual talent show, Earth Week activities, and other innovations. Eco Action is also the parent group of Saltsburg's Envirothon team. Students interested in learning more about Eco Action should talk to Mrs. Palazzi, or any Eco Action member. Most members can be found in Room 306, after school on Thursdays until 4:00pm. |

Thursday, 23 October 2008 (All) This meeting will be primarily clerical in nature. Once recycling has been completed, we will have discussions centered around each committee. After committee discussions are satisfied, Mrs. Palazzi will present her experiences in Memphis at the National Association of Biology Teachers meeting. Some opportunities for the club will be discussed and we will explore "The Wild Classroom" website. Thursday, 30 October 2008 (All) Last week, we discussed the idea of letterboxing/geocaching. This week, weather permitting, we'll be out in the field, examining some of these things for ourselves. There are several locations, in Saltsburg, where people have already hidden letterboxes. Bring your permission slips, hiking shoes, and notebooks - this should be fun! (Note: this activity has been postponed, due to inclimate weather.) |
