Just thought you all might be interested in reading an article which appeared on the cover of the NZ Herald today about the Starship Hospital. It is causing quite an uproar within New Zealand, and Lucy is on the front page in opposition to a name change the Auckland Health Board is actioning (although on the news tonight the board has backed down a little). Despite the controversial nature of the article, there is a great photo of Lucy.

I fixed the links to the Xena comics books as well all the available links to the Xena image gallery. In the next few days I will add the photos I had there previously. as well as the two comics I had up to read previosly. I also see that the links for the new media clips i added are downloading now better. Geocities/Yahoo are intergrating new services into their services and I am fairly sure this is why the clips were not downloading and giving errors. but if you still have issues feels free to email me to email the clips at xena2010@shaw.ca Be aware though the clips are large so a large mail account helps or I will have to send a few a day as your account may begin to bounce. Hi everyone, I am aware people are having trouble downloading some of the newer clips. It is either due to yahoo/geocities having problems or so many people downloading and/or pounding the web page with downloading tools like realdownload it is bogging down the servers. Because the server is free there is not much I can do. Until this is resolved I don't plan on uploading anymore clips. If you want clips and have an email account that allows a large amount of space or unlimited I would be happy to email the clips you want to you. Just email me at xena2010@shaw.ca and I will be happy to help you.

Evening everyone. I fixed the link to the Behind the Scenes Renee at Shakespeare By the Sea interview. As well I finished actually yesterday uploading and posting the rest of Warrior Princess. I started a new batch of clips for the Behind the Scenes part 2 for Friend in Need from the feature from kit #6. I have it mostly done just finishing up a few more clips either tonight or tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

Xena braved SARS: Singapore may now be SARS city, but it did not stop New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless from seeing the sights here last weekend. The Xena star was here with daughter Daisy Bit on Friday and Saturday en route to her hometown in Auckland. The Warrior Princess may be dead, but Lawless will return to TV to present a five-part documentary on Discovery Channel called Warrior Women."

And after years of speculation, it's official: Xena was gay. Lucy Lawless admitted as much in an interview with Lesbian News. "Now it wasn't just that Xena was bisexual and kinda liked her gal pal and they kinda fooled around sometimes, it was 'Nope, they're married, man,'" said the dethroned Warrior Princess. "Gay, gay," she continues. "Definitely."
Then my favorite, on Lucy's birthday, one of the local DJs was going down the list of celebrity birthday's. He said "Lucy Lawless is 35." Then I could almost hear him smile as he added, "She may be 35, but to me she is a 10." I agree with him! Okay, maybe an 11. (Thanx to Zandis for the info!)

Grainne Mhaol -mhaol meaning cropped hair- was known to have chopped her long hair off to survive in the mainly male dominated world of pirate infested seas, controlling Clew bay with an iron fist from her castle on Clare Island
Grainne who was known as Grace O'Malley by the English was married with 3 children before she began her famous career on the high seas, marshalling 3 pirate ships and up to 200 men as she opposed the English attempts to remove her from her kingdom.
'The facts are thin on the ground about how exactly Grace become this amazing and feared warrior, she was a women who had no English but decided she wanted to meet Queen of Elizabeth so that's what she did, she sailed up The Thames river in London and demanded an audience with the Queen, something that was completely unheard of.
Grace had no English but excellent Latin forcing Queen Elizabeth to talk to her in a foreign tongue.
They were two women in a tough mans world separated by tradition but who experienced many of the same hardships'
After Grainne's first husband was been executed by Queen Elizabeth's troops she remarried in 1556 Iron Richard Burke and had a son named Tibbot. She was captured by the crown's forces and jailed for 2 years returning to her castle on Clare Island to continue her defiance.
In 1558 Elizabeth I pardoned her in an attempt to bring peace to the region but his attempt failed as the local English administrators continued to go after the woman who had been a thorn in their side for years.

Fighting was her only means of survival and this she did until the Irish defeat at the Battle of Kinsale in 1601 ended her dominance. She died in 1603 and has since been, to a large degree, overlooked as a genuine heroine of Irish history.
Her career spanned from the supremacy to the suppression of Gaelic rule. Folklore conveys her alliances with English forces, her imprisonment in the goals of Limerick and Dublin, and her partial submission to Elizabeth Ist, Queen of England. Her actions were brave attempts to uphold her government over her fast retreating Gaelic kingdoms.
The series entitled 'Warrior Women' presented by Xena Warrior Princess, Lucy Lawless will also feature other fierce women including Joan of Arc, Boudica, Queen of the Iceni Tribe, Chinese heroine Hua Mulan and Apache warrior Lozen and will be broadcast later this autumn on the Discovery Channel.
