  • I finished off and have the whole ep of The Warrior Princess up now. I have had a few requests for other eps so I am just deciding on which to get up next and what other projects to work on. Hope you all enjoy this ep. It is where it all started.

  • And Melissa Good who was a writer for the Xena eps Coming Home and Legacy sent in this email regarding the Bardcon and a raffle to benifet a Anonymous Xenite battling cancer. Please support and buy tickets for the raffle to help out a fellow Xenite!

    Hey guys -

I know this is short notice, but it's a worthwhile cause, and I think the end result will be a unique piece of Xena to whoever ends up with it.

A bit ago the Bardcon group had an online raffle, and one of the items did not make it's minimum. That was Gabrielle's ragtop bikini from FIN.

Now, I know lots of folks (including me) didn't like the episode, but how many ragtop bikinis did Gabrielle wear?

Since we still have this ragtop, I'd like to try and raffle it by the Pasadena Con. Denise will post details of tickets shortly.

This costume is sort of special. The proceeds from the raffle will go to someone (a specific person) who is battling cancer, and who could really use the help.

Because I promised the donor I would not reveal their identity, I really can't reveal who donated the costume to us for the raffle. However, I can say it has a note enclosed (a really cute one) from the original costume wearer, and to my mind, the note itself is probably worth more as a keepsake than the ragtop bikini is. (ggg)

So - the tickets will be:

    1 for $5
    5 for $20
    20 for $50
    50 for $100

The online tickets sales will run till late Tuesday night - and they can take credit cards. Denise will also have tickets available at the PUP BREAKFAST - but she is not electronic and can only take cash and money orders. We will have the ticket drawing at the end of the breakfast.

If you want to get tickets via paypal (using cc or whatever) = send it to stephens@catskill.net - and put PASADENA RAFFLE in the header, and how many tickets you want. Denise will send back your ticket numbers since I waited as usual until the last minute to ask her to do this and she will probably kill me before the weekend is over.

This is a good cause, folks. We often donate for a big entity, such as the Heart Association, or Starship - but not that often for a single person who can have a difference made to them in this way.

So - anyone who wants in, go for it. I will reveal to the winner before they get the costume who donated it, since it will be obvious once they recieve it. (g)

    M

    And further info:

    Hi folks!

Just to answer a few questions we have already had...

If you want to pay by paypal and do not have an account, please go to www.paypal.com and sign up for one. Then send your payment to stephens@catskill.net marked PASADENA RAFFLE indicating the number of tickets you are purchasing.

If you simply wish to make a donation, you can do it through paypal or by sending a check or Money order snail mail to

    Denise Byrd
    253 E. Cherry St.
    Groveland, FL. 34736

For those of you who will be in Pasadena--- we will be selling tickets at the Pup Breakfast at Shakers Restaurant on Saturday morning. The breakfast runs from 9-11, and the drawing will be at the end of the breakfast. If you find me before then, I may not have the tickets with me, but I am always willing to take your money. I will however make sure your tickets get put in the bag to be pulled.

You do not need to be present to win, because I will not have the costume with me in Pasadena with me. We have found that traveling with this stuff is an invitation to bad karma happening. I will FedEx the costume to the winner. They have been very good to us.

Any more questions, please email me at Storybyrd@cfl.rr.com.

Thanks for helping make this a successful raffle!

    Denise

  • As well I was reading, god forbid, Teen People in a drugstore today. And here I see an image of the singer Brandy in a silver tassle dress and knee high leather strap boots that looked like something Xena might possibly consider for summer wear. And guess what the headline below said? "I thought Xena Warrior Princess was cancelled?" *LOL* It cracked me up. Sorry no scan. Brandy to me is no reason to pay 5 bucks just for that headline! But I thought I would mention it. Just another Xena mention.

  • And head over to Calli's Creations. Her art is amazing and she has some new Virtual Subtext Posters up. Amazing work! Definitely worth to use to Xenatize your computer world!

  • And Xenites are trying to organize the first Italian Xena Convention! So here are the details on how to make it a real possibility and a success!:

March 2004: don't take any commitments, because we're organizing the first Italian Xena convention!

Max and Valeria, members of several Yahoo Xena groups (Max is the founder of the Italian internet Xena roleplay). Some days ago, Max contacted the organizers of the Deep Space Convention, a Star Trek convention in particular, but in general a sci-fi con that is being held in the Italian city of Fiuggi (famous for its thermal waters) every year the first days of March.

We hoped to dedicate a small space of this year's convention to Xena, and we asked if it would have been possible to invite some actor. Due to the late request it wasn't possible this year, but they agreed for next year! In march 2004 we will be organizing a all Xena convention, and this means that we have to get moving right now!

The more we are, the easier it will be for us to have important actors, just think about Ted Raimi (Joxer) or Hudson Leick (Callisto). The organizer says that if we'll be at least 200 they'll invite an actor, but what if we're 300 or 400? That's why we need your help!

We need to inform as many people as possible. I know that it looks strange, it's over a year away, but if we can have a very specific number we can start planning on the actors.

    Battle on!

    Max flivero@tin.it and Vale daddy78@interfree.it

  • The New Zealand Herald ran an article on anti GM Agriculture and Dame Susan that mentions Lucy Lawless and her role with the Starshio Foundation as a board member. Interesting read all the same but I can't say I agree with the article in regards to Lucy. Take the time to read it!

    Jan. 27th

  • Ok I added three more clips for the Herc ep of The Warrior Princess. I will try and finish it in the next day or two.

I put up a clip for the Hercules-Xena Trilogy Episode: The Warrior Princess. I plan on working to get that all up this week as well in time the whole trilogy. Was nice to re-watch where it all began. I actually felt like i was watching it for the first time, since it has been so long since I saw the eps. A special thank you to Richard for giving me the trilogy for Xmas. It means more than you know..

  • The Globe's January 28th issue has photos of Lucy singing on the Dave & Lucy tour in New Zealand. I love the headline. Xena Rocks! Take a better look of it at Mirrorblue's Newsboard!

Hi everyone. I am once again sorry for not updating for a few days. I been dealing off and on with bad bottom wisdom teeth pain and thankfully my surgery is tomorrow afternoon. I am not sure how I will do or how much pain I may or may not be in. So I am not sure I can or will update tomorrow. All depends on how I am feeling.

  • I did add two images of Lucy, Dave and a singer named Anika Moa from the concerts they did on January 7th & 9th at the Kaitaia Community Centre.

  • There is an article at the online website for the Mumbai Newsline regarding Xena and her cult status as well as other shows that tried but didn't quite gain the same noriety but did alright. *L* Nice little article and worth reading.

  • And apparantely there are some people selling the magazine Lesbian News that contains the article with Lucy Lawless on Ebay. The publishers ofthe article are not too happy and have issued a warning for those of those who choose to continue in this practice. Thank you to Mary D for the info.

  • Leanne over at KiwiAttic managed to catch Lucy on video at a concert and posted this info about buying a copy of the footage on her website:

As you know I went to a second concert in Palmerston North of the Dave and Lucy Summer Tour, and this time took my video camera along. Managed to get a few songs and would be happy to make this available for those interested. My main interest in this email though is to find out what form people would be most interested in purchasing these in. Since my video-guy left, I've been sourcing a new person and as it turns out both are in another town (which means a small delay in copying time). I have a couple of options however, and all depend on quantities ordered at the time, also there is the option of putting the footage onto a VCD, playable on your computer or DVD player. It turns out that the new NTSC dubbing costs are likely to be around US$22 per VHS tape + shipping, whereas the VCD would be around US$15 + shipping. Shipping costs are not yet confirmed, but the VCD would definitely be the cheaper option. I haven't seen the quality yet and am waiting to see this before making any further decisions - but I would be more interested in what you guys think about this...........is a VCD more preferable, or just stick with the VHS tape? If you have the time to let me know, I'd love to hear from you soon.
    Kindest Regards

  • I added the whole XWP Dark Horse Issue #4. It consists of 22 pages but it is well worth the read. It is not a story from the actual series but one totally independent and takes place right after Gabs and Xenners died and were resurrected from the cross.

  • There are quite a few articles out on Lucy regarding the Lucy & Dave Tour and on on the rumour that Lucy was on New Zealand Radio saying a new Xena movie is being backed by Universal. Zentertainment reported the rumour and said they got this information from Dark Horizons. We know Rob Tapert confirmed it is a possibility recently but not for 3-4 years. Just thought I would mention this info I found.

  • The next article is from Stuff from the Manawatu Standard. It is a review on Lucy & Dave's Tour and it is a good one. I have to laugh how they call Dave Yoda. *LOL*

  • The second article also on Stuff from The Daily News is also about the Lucy & Dave Tour and Lucy also talks about if it bothered her that she was being upstaged in the headlines with Tom Cruise in NZ and apparantely appearing at the same Venue in New Plymouth. A good read and sounds like Lucy is having fun on the tour!

  • And the last article, also on Stuff from The Sunday Star Times talks about all the stars currently in New Zealand including, of course, Lucy and they interviewed her about her concert New Year's Eve at Papamoa Beach. Ahh I am so jealous. I wish I lived in New Zealand! Don't we all right now!

  • And last item for today, anyone interested in buying a copy of the Lesbian News magazine with Lucy on the cover. You can order it by calling 1-800-4589888 (or if you are in Australia 00111 800 4589888). The price is $7.00 and that includes shipping within the US (you will need to check for other countries). Thanx to Mary D for the info!

    Jan. 9th

Hey everyone! I finished up the episode Livia today. So enjoy! I was planning on posting a whole Dark Horse Comic, but it is taking a bit longer than I anticipated to re-size the scans and upload them. It is about 22 pages. So I will try and get that up tomorrow.

  • The news in the Xenaverse is that Lucy was on a New Zealand radio station(91ZM) yesterday and as well recently mentioned in the Lesbian News Magazine article about a possible Xena movie being worked on. Sharon Delaney at Creation posed the question about a possible Xena movie in the works and this was Rob's response as reported by Sharon:

"Rob would love to do one and has been working toward that end. But nothing definite has been set yet. It's still in the "3 or 4 years down the road" stage."

So it looks like we may get one just not for a while. So put the rumours to rest for a while *s*

  • And great news for an incredibly talented Bard in the Xenaverse!! ArdentTly known as well as Trish Shields will have her Inferno novel published by Baycrest Books this year!! To a big congratulations to Trish!!! We are very proud of ya!!

  • Ok this might be minorly off topic, but Kevin Sorbo is on this week's Canadian Tv Guide and ironically as well the Season 1 of the Hercules DVD have now been released by the XenaHercules website annunced they are available as of today! So any Herc fans out there, get out those credit cards! *LOL*

  • And Lucy on SNL wil be repeated on January 15th at noon & Saturday January 25th at 3:00 p.m. on Comedy Central in the U.S. Check your local listings to be sure of the times.

  • And Follow the River with Renee will be on Tuesday, January 14th at 9:00 p.m. & again Friday, January 24th at 12:00 am on VISN- Hallmark-Odyssey in the U.S. Ditto on checking your local listings! Have a good night!

    Jan. 7th

  • Ok So I put up a couple more clips for Livia. I enjoy the fight scene between Livia and Ares. Very erotic *LOL* I figure in a day or two I can finish this ep up.

  • And there are a few more polls going on. Three at Funvote.com for best relationship. The other at Funvote is for Best Tv show. Xena and Gabs are in there of course for Best Relationship. The third is for the Favorite Xena actress/actor. Of course Xena is in the lead, trailing by Gabs then Ares.

  • For those of you who live in New Zealand, The Hercules and Xena: Battle for Olympus animated movie will be on TV3 on Tuesday January 14th at noon. So set your vcrs if that interests you.

  • There is a second petition going for Gabrielle/Renee to have a wax figure made of her character for the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. So if ya have time sign the petition! And if you haven't already take the time to sign the one for a Xena/Lucy wax figure as well!

  • Leanne over at Kiwiattic is selling pictures of Lucy singing on the Dave & Lucy Tour at their first concert! The photos are $4.00 each and regardless of the number of photos ordered the shipping is $5.00. All funds must in in USD.

  • And Leanne at KiwiAttic posted a report regarding her seeing Lucy and Dave in concert.

    Subject: Lucy in concert!!!

    Hi everyone

I hope your holiday break is going well, and that whatever you celebrate around this time of year, that you have done this with a happy and kind hearted spirit. I have found myself very busy, and will be for the next couple of weeks following up stuff from Lucy on concert. I went to the opening night with a good friend of mine, and although I will have papers, photos and hopefully posters to offer early next year, I thought you all might like a wee "blurb" of the evening..............enjoy the new year!!!

AFTER a hectic drive over from Napier the day following Christmas, when all you really want to do is sleep off the excess consumption of food, we found ourselves in Taupo and headed to the Great Lakes Centre to be pleasantly welcomed by a full window poster of Lucy and Dave atop a moped! First thought "I gotta get some of those!!" (thus far proving more difficult than I thought).

We had arrived 10 minutes before starting time and found a prime possie up near the front. I was surprised at the wide range of ages in the audience from the youngest at about 12, who had already sat themselves on the floor beside us, a great plan as it turned out as there was a lot of waiting. Anika Moa, a recently discovered NZ talent, played for 30 minutes or so till 8.45pm. For the next half hour people kept arriving, mingling and waiting, the smell of bourbon got stronger and the crowd gradually became "antsy". At 9.15pm, half an hour after Anika, the front crowd started clapping impatiently amid the odd "Come on Dave" and "We want Lucy" call going out. Finally, with an enthusiastic welcome, Dave came on stage (entering on the right) with his band taking their places. I looked around anxiously for Lucy, who I saw in the background on the left and looking a tad nervous - I certainly felt for her! Dave did intro's to the band, launched into his first song and Lucy inconspicuously joined him at the microphone, tambourine in hand. She looked fantastic!! Trading in the leather clad outfit for blue denim hipsters, rouged elastic white cotton crop top and showing a midriff you would not expect to see on a mother-of-three. Her hair was down around her face, retro sneakers, no jewelry except her wedding rings. Natural, unassuming and stunning!

Lucy's comfort grew as the songs wore on and she began interacting more with Dave and on occassion the crowd, shooting a few grins at the group of intoxicated young men in front of us, ( who would have looked more at home at a Limp Bizkit concert ) and who cheered "Yeah Lucy", which gradually became "come on Dave, give Lucy a go." Amid them having domestics with their girlfriends & the girl on my right continually on her cell phone, I thought they were in for a tough crowd. Just at that moment things warmed up as Dave launched into a well known NZ song of his, and Lucy began asserting a bit more confidence with the harmonising and showed great rhythm with the tambourine.

Lucy's solo performance was "Maxine" by Sharon O'Neil - and a fantastic rendition it was to. She had a powerful voice when in full stride. ( I had goosebumps an all ) This really got the crowd going. The night continued in this fashion, unfortunately I didn't get to stay for the last few songs since the 2.5 hour drive home was looking ominous as the clock neared 10.45pm.( and with an early rise at 5.30am I had to make a choice! ) But, now knowing that they will be in Palmerston North, my home city, in early January & that video cameras were not frowned on, we're going again and taking the Palm Corder! I think I got some great shots - we'll see this 'arvo'', & I got the name of the promoter from the ticket seller, so will have to make some phone calls later today. I had hoped there'd be some CD's or T Shirts or something - perhaps after the tour ???? who knows.

Lucy said on the interview last week that she wasn't looking to be a pop superstar or anything like that, but in my opinion she'd be more preferable to some at the moment! I think 'good on her' for taking the risk, it will really pay off toward the end as she gets into the swing of things. It's not something I aspire to or am I capable of doing, But I loved seeing her perform - it was fantastic!!!!

Here is a link to our page with a selection of the photos I took.

    Take care

  • And Lucy Report Part II

    Subject: In concert part 2

    Me again

I have gotten hold of copies of the Waikato Times paper, the regional paper around Taupo, and it has a super photo of Lucy on the front with an article. And thankfully, to save me time and finger-power, this is on the stuff website at the link below for you to have a look at more fully.

    ttp://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/waikatotimes/0,2106,2151290a6579,00.html
The basic information will also be on our website at this link:

    http://kiwiattic.bizland.com/Xena/otheritems/WaikatoTimes.htm

but if you are interested in purchasing a copy for yourself and just want to email me direct that is fine............the paper will be US$3 + US$4 shipping (front section); or US$7 whole paper. I have very limited numbers of these papers as it is a much smaller paper than those we usually deal with like the Sunday Star Times.

  • Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and happy celebration. Here is looking to a better year!

  • I decided to add a clip and start adding the episode from Season Five called Livia. I realized I had Eve up and one has to see Livia first to totally get Eve. I love this episodes because the fight scenes are awesome in it.

  • I also added and posted an MP3 by an artist called Lily White called I'd Rather Be In New Zealand With Xena On Xenax. Humourous song, but worth adding to your collection if you are a Xenafanatic.

  • I added a new Xenaland chatroom to my website. It is a java one by bravenet. Not exactly what I want but in March at income tax time I will be paying for a HTML chat that is a similiar format to the old WBS.net format that will allow tags, images and colours for text. So this is a temporary thing. Please take advantage to meet other Xenites who visit my page or other Xenites who used to chat at WBS.net in the past.
