What Are Xena Warrior Princess Cast Up To ? ...
Lucy Lawless:
Xena Punk 'Spider-Man' Cameo Pic
Lucy Lawless is mulling her first movie since becoming a TV star via "Xena: Warrior Princess." The film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is "Dealing With Donna," an Australian comedy about two dysfunctional women, to be directed by Richard Turner.

Lucy Lawless is making a cameo appearence as a punk rocker in the upcoming 'Spider-Man' movie. The Kiwi actress, also known as Xena, Warrior Princess, is currently filming her scenes in New York, USA.

"
Her courage will change the world"-- Xena: Warrior Princess. she got her breakout role of Lysia in "Hercules and the Amazon Women" (1994). Shortly thereafter, the producers needed someone to play Xena. Lucy, tall (5' 10-1/2"), athletic, with brown hair and blue eyes, was perfect for the part. But there was a snag: at first, the producers (what do they know?) did not want Lucy for the part of Xena-- after all, she had played a different character already.
For all the Renee O'Connor fans who won't have a chance to see her playing Lady Macbeth, we will have a "taste of Lady M" in fan club kit #6.  Yesterday we went with Renee to Pt. Fermin Park where the play is being performed and did some filming.

First was a short sit-down interview in street clothes.  After that was over, Renee asked if we'd like to film some of her physical warm-up routine.  She proceeded to sit down on the ground and put her foot behind her head!  Turns out she does a yoga routine to warm up.  She went through a series of moves for the camera.

Renee then changed into the blue costume from the play and began to recite some of Lady M's speeches.

So, Lucy dyed her light hair a dark brown, making her look a bit different, and history was about to be made! Lucy, in her leather outfit and armed with her mighty Chakram, was thus cast in her signature roll of Xena in 3 episodes of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" (1995)--"The Warrior Princess"; "The Gauntlet" and "The Unchained Heart"-- that would lead to her own spin-off series, "Xena: Warrior Princess" (1995).Although "Xena" immediately got a huge fan following in America, ironically "Xena" was not being shown in her native New Zealand, so Lucy did not achieve her tremendous popularity in her homeland until a bit later. In October 1996, Lucy came to America to be on Jay Leno's "Tonight" show. She was to do a publicity stunt, making a grand entrance by riding a horse in the parking lot. The horse tripped on the cement, Lucy fell and broke her pelvis. (Ironically, for the entire 6-year run of "Xena," Lucy-- doing her own stunts and riding horses-- never received a serious injury.) After convalescence and another season of "Xena," Lucy returned to America for another visit; Lucy made her Broadway debut playing Betty Rizzo in "Grease" from September to October, 1997. Also Lucy (divorced from Garth in 1995) became engaged to "Xena" executive producer Robert G. Tapert at that time. They married in Santa Monica, California on March 28, 1998. On October 16, 1999, they had a son, Julius Robert Bay Tapert, born in New Zealand. Although "Xena" has been canceled after a fantastic 6-year run, millions of Lucy Lawless fans know it is still just the beginning for her, and we look forward to her new film projects.

We filmed her walking along the stone fence that runs above the cliffs, delivering her lines full-out to the sea.  I mentioned that one of the other actors did his rehearsing on the other side of the fence.  Renee hiked up the dress and hopped over with my camera crew right behind her!  With the wind making the most incredible moving sculptures of Renee and the blue gown, she put her arms out and continued to recite.  She looked like Kate Winslet on the bow of the Titanic -- eyes closed, face up to the sky.

The shoot was only scheduled for 45 minutes, but Renee stayed for an hour and a half and kept asking for more things to do!  And, yes, we did get the Macbeth "Undo the Curse" Rap delivered right into the camera lens in Renee's sauciest manner <G>.

she was a guest on some TV shows such as NYPD Blue, before starring in a Hercules TV movie "Hercules and the lost Kingdom", as Deianeira, which caught the eyes of the exc.
producers Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert, who proceeded to cast Renee in the 1994 feature film, "Darkman 2: Return of Durant", as Laurie Brinkman. Shortly after this, Hercules' sister show, "Xena:Warrior Princess" was launched, and Renee had been cast in an important part, as Gabrielle, Xena's trusty sidekick.

Renee now resides in Auckland, New Zealand, where Xena is filmed. She was engaged to Steve Muir (a kiwi, or New Zealander) in Feburary, 2000, and uncomfirmed reports say they were married on 14th October, 2000, in Austin, Texas. Renee has one older brother, Chris, and her step father is Eddie Wilson.
