Mavican is an ambitious warrior who wants to replace Xena as Ares' favourite (see "Succession"). When Ares laughs at her arrogance, she sets out to kill Xena in order to prove her worthiness. Ares is visibly impressed at her skill, when she attacks Xena and he decides to pit them against one another in a deadly game. Mavican is delighted at being given this chance but does not realise that Ares is more interested in testing Gabrielle to see if she has the nerve to kill Mavican. Even though Xena tries to tell Mavican that she is being used by Ares, she refuses to listen. Xena is forced to call her bluff and she and Mavican end up dangling on vines, over a deep pit. Afraid of dying without making a name for herself, Mavican calls on Ares for help and, in doing so, seals her fate. Ares rescues Xena but leaves Mavican to die.
The son of Ming Tsu, head of the House of Ming in the land of Chin. Ming Tsu nicknamed him 'the Green Dragon' when he was a child. However, Ming T'ien saw both his father and mother as weak and seemed to despise them both.
In her bad old days, Xena kidnapped Ming T'ien for ransom and taught him the meaning of terror. He grew up a monster and killed his own mother, Lao Ma. When Xena realises the extent of his evil, she kills him with a hairpin (as you do!).
Queen Marga is the current queen of the Greek Amazons, at the time that Xena and Gabrielle have redeemed Eve and Xena has slain half the Olympian gods (see "Motherhood").
Yet another Xena lookalike, Meg is a 'loose woman' who constantly gets in with the wrong crowd. She appears to be a bit of a schemer, but she isn't very bright, which means that her schemes tend to fall apart around her. In "Warrior, Princess, Tramp" she is involved with Agis, in a scheme to kill King Lias and take the place of Princess Diana on the throne. In the end, she helps Xena and is given a chance to redeem herself by becoming the palace cook.
In "Warrior, Priestess, Tramp" we see Meg running a brothel. She does appear to have a good heart though, as she naively believes she is doing the temple a favour by stepping in for Priestess Leah, when really she is unknowingly involved in an attempt to kill the Hestian virgins.
Meleager the Mighty was once a fearsome warrior with a reputation for being lethal in battle. However, when called upon to save Gabrielle's village of Potidaea, it becomes apparent to Gabrielle and Lila that he has a bit of a drink problem. Meleager has lost his nerve and is fed up with killing. Luckily, Gabrielle and Lila manage to help Meleager to recover his lost confidence and save Potidaea.
When Gabrielle encounters Meleager again, he is in deep trouble. He has been imprisoned for murder and is about to be executed. The problem is that he cannot remember whether he did commit the murder or not, as he was drunk at the time. Xena manages to save his life (just about!) and prove his innocence and Meleager is allowed to go free.
