Do's: Don'ts:
Q: I need help!
A:
- Give detailed requests for help.                    The more detailed you are, the faster someone can get to your location and have what you need at hand.

Examples:
The presence in sentinel killed me. I need help with a CR.
- chat/ask/racetalk help
Why? we don't read minds nor are most of us omnicient. Chatting help will not get you any help until you explain HOW we can help.


Help! I died.
Q: I need gold!
A:
- Go find a way of making gold. By exploring you can find new items which may be of value.  Look through a database and find items that you know about with a decently high value and get them midased.

Worst comes to worst, you could always fall back on killing monsters for potions/pills/whatever else you were planning to buy with the gold. After all, if you wanted to buy something, someone must have killed or found the item for you to buy.
Chat, beg for gold. It doesn't work. You do not require gold to live, there is no rent, there are no inns. Asking where there is good gold is pointless. Why? because if there is good gold, there are people, and if there are people, everyone gets gold/people. The more people looking for gold in the same place, the less each of them gets. What was then "good" for gold suddenly becomes bad.
Q: Where am I? I'm lost!
A:
- The realms of despair are HUGE. People get lost all the time. I suggest you check out maps at tokai.ws as well as the in progress wikipedia page.There are maps in both locations. First type WHERE to see your location. It should say e.g.

Players near you in The Halls of Knowledge:

So the area you are in is Halls of Knowldge. From there you should look at a map of the area if it exists and try to find your location by moving around SLOWLY and matching exits on the map with your location.

If the room you are in has no exits, chat asking for a recall to be transd to the area.

Example:
Help I'm lost in the desert of despair. Can someone trans me a recall?
- scream for help on chat. Everyone takes some time to orientate themselves so just take it at your own pace. If there are no maps of the area, make one yourself. Pencil and paper will help you out alot while exploring the realms. Jot down any useful information you find like hidden room exits etc where you could easily get lost while trying to orientate yourself.

DO NOT keep chatting "I'm lost" as it only upsets players. New players seem to think it is the job of older players to babysit them through the game. It is NOT our responsibility. We play the game just like you do. We do NOT owe you anything and we do NOT need to help you. It is a choice some of us make. Type who nc and send anyone on the list a tell if you want someone to help you because it's thier job.
Q: Why won't my styles/weapon skills go up?
A:
- To make styles go up, you need to CHANGE them IN COMBAT by typing sty <eva/def/sta/agg/ber>
- Weapon skills automatically go up when you reach level 6.

Q: Why won't it let me practice <skillname here>
A:
- You already practiced it.To make the % go up, USE it. Type help <skillname> to find out the SYNTAX to use it.
OR
- You don't have enough practice sessions. Level up to get more
OR
- If the skill has more than one word e.g. second attack you need to use quotes. pr 'second attack'

Q: Why can't I bid?
A:
- You need to be in a room that can auction. The most common of these are the auction house 3s e of dh[]
