As the sun set, the darkness took over my soul as well. I could only feel so much pain before everything went numb. Now, like you I have an evil side. He can't come with me, but we have a plan. Once I take over the other side, I will be in control of who comes and goes. Then he will join me. He wants to repay you just as much as I do. You used him many times as well. "Xena, there is something I need to tell you. Eve has sent prayer to us that there is a great evil coming to take over Heaven." "Dont worry, they won't have a chance against Xena now that she is an Archangel. She is our greatest force in the fight against evil." Michael said proudly. "Has this entity started anything yet. Everything seems to be still." "No, she hasn't passed yet. Xena, I am afraid that this will be difficult for you. The entity will be Gabrielle." Xena was horrified. "What? She is too kind of a soul too do something like that. Are you sure it is the same Gabrielle?" Sadly Eli continues: "Yes. She has vowed vengence against your soul." "Ares is working with her, but the decision is her own. She has succombed to evil after your loss. Now she wants to get even with you for hurting her. Ares will be sacrificing her today. We can't intervene until she gets here. Do you know what you will have to do?" "Yes, destroy Gabrielle's soul. I will if I have to. But I can't believe that she is truely evil. Can I do this my own way and try to save her? We are meant to be, soulmates for eternity. I have to try and make her understand." "Alright, but be forewarned, if you don't get through to her within three moons, her soul must be destroyed. Anything more than that will jeapordise the souls in all of heaven. Our God will have to permanently intervene. Go now and prepare for her arrival." Xena goes to the cavern of souls to await Gabrielle's arrival. All souls entered the cavern before they were appointed to heaven or hell. Maybe she could talk some sense into her there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the candle lit temple of the god of war, Ares takes Gabrielle and gently lifts her onto the altar. He didn't wan't to kill her, but she made it very clear that this was the only way. With or without his help she was going to cross over. He was very fond of Gabrielle, almost as much as he was of Xena. He would greatly miss her if this didn't work, but no matter what was said, he couldn't talk her out of it. Reluctantly Ares withdrew his sword. " You will return to me?" "Yes Ares, as soon as I have control of heaven, I will call you to join me. Now do it quickly, right through the heart." Ares passionately kisses Gabrielle, and stabs her through the chest, clutching onto her as she fell back lifeless. I will not loose you too Gabrielle, this had better work.
