Episode 1.6 - The Reckoning
Ares frames Xena for the murder of innocent villagers, and sets her up for a lynching, but it's all a plot to tempt her back to his service. Gabrielle sticks by Xena through the trial, a threatened lynching and even a smack on the head that should have killed her. Finally, Xena pretends she'll join Ares, and tricks him into bringing the murdered villagers back to life, so that she is cleared of all charges. Ares says that Xena, even as an adversary, is "one of a kind."
