Duo Maxwell

Duo is probably the happy-go-lucky member of the five Gundam pilots. Not as friendly as Quatre, but not as harsh as Heero either. A guy with a touch of humor. But deep down he is a serious boy, like all the other Gundam pilots. He calls himself "The God of Death", and with good reason. This is how he explains it,"I don't belive in god...I've only seen death... I belive in Shingami..." Duo's parents were probably killed by the Alliance when they invaded the colonies. So Duo lives with a group of orphans, seeking food and refuge. Although the word "seeking" would probably be subsituted with stealing, it's always for a good cause. And one year, a virus spread throughout the colony, and Duo, then called Solo, traveled with his pals to steal some of the Alliance's vaccines for the disease. But one of Solo's friends died, and Solo, knowing that his friend would live in him forever, called himself Duo afterwards, and was adopted by the Maxwell church, hence the last name of Maxwell. One interesting fact is that Duo never wanted to cut his hair, and so Sister Helen braided it for him.

Some years passed, and an rebel faction led by Quinze Barton stromed the colony in the year A.C. 192. They demanded mobile suits and would not leave. So Duo went out and stole a MS from the Alliance. But, coming back, he found the destoryed remains of the Maxwell Church. Most everyone was dead, including Sister Helen. Duo then stowed away on the Sweeper Group's salvage ship, Peacemillion, and there he is caught by Professor G, but learning of his past, Professor G takes him in and trains him for Operation Meteor.

During the April of A.C. 195, Duo goes down to Earth with the Gundam Deathscythe, and attacks the mysterious OZ organization. He joined up with the Sweeper Group organization on Earth and Howard in the Pacific Ocean. He also had some dealings with another Gundam pilot, Heero. The two had a rough time together, and even tried to kill each other, but in the end it turned out pretty well. When the Gundam pilots were planing to go to Space, Duo, along with Quatre, goes to Singapore to secure Mobile Suit Carriers for the other Gundams. But when Duo went to space, his Gundam was destroyed by OZ and was captured. (His self-detonation switch malfunctions, and the scene is hallarious! ^_~) But then, Heero comes to the rescue, and breaks Duo out. Duo then meets a girl named Hilde, and brings her back to her senses while trying to get to the Lunar Base. There, he learns that his Gundam is being rebuilt. When the Gundam Deathscythe Hell is finished, he breaks out of OZ's Lunar Base along with Wufei. In the Eve Wars toward the end, he played an important role by taking the Gundam engineers to Peacemillion to knock out it's power system.

After the wars of A.C. 195 and A.C. 196, he works in the field of transportation and can be seen at a junkyard (?) at the end of the OAV.
