Cartoon? Gundam? Nah...

Okay, this is gonna be my first essay, and it's going to be short. (Comon', live with it!) Now, as a true Gundam fan, you would always try to get other people to become Gundam fans as well, and it's an instinct. Now, it's different with adults. I've tried this on a number of adults (i.e. my dad and some other people). But right when they see that Gundam W is a "cartoon" or animated thing, they back away from it, dismissing it as another kids cartoon. But in actuality, I think that they just feel it isin't right to be watching this kind of thing; it's too old for them. But Gundam is actually a very mature show, and that most fans nowadays do not understand the show. But as a Gundam fan, you always try to do this, and you don't seem to succed in it a lot. Sometimes that annoys me.

Also, the situation of the North American dub. First of all, (I don't know if this is a problem in your place) the idea that Gundam fandom is spreading is good. But now there's a bunch of teenagers stomping around saying, "Gundam, Gundam, Gundam! Ohhh... did you see yesterdays episode? They called it Deathscythe HELL!!! They used a curse word!! *Some insane laughing* Then they talk about the great destoryer. They got the theme of the show is all wrong. I mean, I love the fact that Gundam fandom is spreading, but nobody understands the show. I for one, was greatly moved by the show the first time I saw it, and I don't think most of the American fans are getting the message. I'm not against that... I just see something like that as naive. I don't think most of the internet Gundam universe is like that, anyway.

Oh, well, this has been more of a rant than a essay, but how did I do? Send your comments to Nataku@saiyan.com! I hope I didn't offend any of you!
