Gundam vs. Gundam W

Well, this is my first real essay, and I hope my little knowledge of First Gundam serves me well. So, here goes.

In my opinon, I think that Gundam W is almost exactly like First Gundam (AKA Mobile Suit Gundam). Gundam W is actually a spinoff of Gundam. There exists a couple of similarities that are kinda freaky. Here are a couple:

1. Char Aznable- This guy, an ace in the Principility of Zeon, is a dashing figure in red. The other guy, in the Gundam W universe, Zechs Merquise, is an ace of OZ is quite similar to Char. First of all, the looks. Both of their color schemes are red, as represented in their respective mobile suits. Although you would think, Tallgeese isin't red! But look, the crest thing on it's head is, and that's what's on Zechs' OZ uniform, red. Same with Char. Ha! He's even got his own red Zaku II! The second, their helmets. Both look similar, and both wear helmets for the same reason. To hide their faces for revenge. Although Char was getting revenge on the Zabi family and Zechs was getting revenge on the United Earth Sphere Alliance as a whole for destorying the Sanc Kingdom. But both their fathers were killed and they wanted revenge. Also, I think their is a relationships between their mobile suits as well. The legendary Redcomet's Zaku II is sorta like Zechs' Tallgeese. (Well, not in looks.) And you can't deny the relationship with the Epyon and the Sazabi. Quite similar, don't you think? Lastly, they are both great pilots. (Of course)

2. Names- Okay, this one's freaky. Think about it. The main character in Gundam, Amuro Ray, and the main character in Gundam W, Heero Yuy. Amuro: five letters. Heero: five-lettered word. Ray: Three-lettered word. Yuy: Three-letterd last name. Same goes with Char Aznable and Zechs Merquise. You get my drift?

3. Conflicts- In the Universal Century era, there have been many similar conflicts in the Gundam W universe. Most notably, the White Fang Episode in Gundam W. Versus the Neo Zeon movement in Char's Counterattack? Same people, kinda the same conflict.

4. Psycho system and the Zero system- Quite a similiarity here. The Zero system and Psycho system both have lots in common, like the way that they control the brain waves of the pilot and make it one with the mobile suit. In Gundam, the phycho system absorbs the psycho waves of the newtype and registers it, hence the fast reaction time. So the Zero System probably works in the same fashion.
