Wuffie... What did you call him??!!!

Ok, here's another one of my famous rants where I go off and scream and everything. ^_^ Ok, this time I'm going to try to explain Wufei's character and try to stop those Anti-Wufei people. Okay, first of all, I'm going to tell you this: Wufei is my fave Gundam pilot, so don't mess with him and his karate shoes. Especially don't mess with Nataku! ^_^

Ok, first of all, I just hate how people on the net go off with how stupid or ignorant Wufei is and that he keeps rambling off about a sense of integrety and justice. So first off, where did Wufei start his ramblings? Well, it goes back a long way. Heirs of the Long Clan were to marry at the age of 14, and Wufei's wife was Meirian, who was always talking about justice and calling herself Nataku. The scholarly Wufei however, always teased her and disowned her philosiphies. But then, an accident happened in their home colony, A02026, was to be destoryed because of the fact that it was an old colony. The operation was headed by General Septem and when the Specials mobile suit corps arrived, they encountered a prototype Leo piloted by Meirian, and fought the suit. During the battle, Meirian was injured, and later on, died. After the battle, Wufei finally understood what Meirian was talking about. Justice. He was to find out for himself what justice really was and he headed off piloting the Shenlong to Operation M to find out.

I just think that Wufei, like Zechs, thinks too much, and gets depressed when they can't find the answers to their problems. When Wufei first got to Earth, he was a bit... well... I can't say arrogant, but just very self-confident. But after his duel with Trieze shortly following the incident at the New Edwards base, he was mad at himself for being defeated by a stronger man, and was depressed for a long time afterwards and does a lot of self-bashing. Most people just look at Wufei for this incident and didn't like him because he was a little too self-confident. But the truth was, he was probably ashamed of himself for losing to Trieze and feels that he shouldn't pilot the Nataku anymore because he couldn't face up to Meirian after this incident, and that he was unfit for her and Nataku (Shenlong). Besides, it was because that he had probably underestimated Trieze, and he was sure that he would win against such an easy opponent. These were probably the factors that made him so upset. From that event on, he vows to keep coming for Trieze until one of them dies.

But then Sally snaps Wufei out of his depressed state with her actions, and is basically telling Wufei to keep fighting, even though you are weak and her determination, I think, helped Wufei back. Even though Wufei disagreed with her, and that he hated Women, he changed a bit after that episode. The next big change for Wufei was when his home colony was destoryed after it self-detonated. Wufei blamed it all on OZ, and had a mad duel with Zechs afterwards. But after that point, he blamed everything on the war, and he felt that it was his goal to bring justice to the Earth Sphere. He kept on searching for justice, all through the Eve Wars, but the Wing Zero helped him a little, and he joined the Gundam pilots in their battle against the White Fang. However, Wufei's heart was still searching, and this took him into his final duel with Trieze. But after he had killed Trieze, he felt that he was sorry for defeating him, because he did not expect to win. This time he overestimated Trieze, and was probably set on dying there. Since he won, nothing was really settled in his heart, and after the Eve Wars Wufei continued to search for answers, and so he decided to join the Mariemeia Army. One reason was that he thought along with many other people that a soldier's destiny was on the battlefield, and they could never fit quite right anywhere else. A second, more important reason was because of the fact that he contiuned to search for justice, as you can see him say, "Now then Earth, show me your true sense of justice!", in the OAV.

But in the duel with Heero, as he sought for answers, Heero tells him that he had already defeated Trieze, for Heero knew what Wufei was thinking. Then Heero sort of sacrifices himself to bring some sense into the confused Wufei. As it turns out, my theory was correct, and Wufei had opposed Relena's "peace". He thought, like Zechs earlier on, that peace shouldn't come this easily. But as he thought, he thought that another war would bring another accident like what happened to his colony. He wouldn't want that. And so in the end, he joins the Gundam pilots' fight against the Mariemeia Army. "This Trieze, is my goodbye", he says. So the conflict within him ends there. And after the war he joins up with Sally Po as a preventer. As he detonated his much-loved Nataku, he says, "Nataku...May you rest in peace." So this ends the conflict both mentally and in reality.

Well, was this essay too confusing? Heck, I even had trouble writing this one. But for those of you who might understand, please, stop going around doing the Anti-Wufei thing. Well, anyway, I've got good reason that Wufei is my fave Gundam pilot! ^_^
