SUNROOF & HOOD VENT INSTALL
My truck has no headliner. I had a sunroof laying around & said 'why not? Its a one-way street so don't blame me if you screw it up. I had no experience, but it turned out great and I'm not at all sorry I did it.
First, center the template and draw an outline. Then drill a pilot hole to start the cut. I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade. Tape the cut as you go to avoid the sheet metal flapping about. Once the panel is cut out, file the edges smooth and test fit the sunroof. You may need to re-shape some corners for a nice fit.
Lay a bead of RTV around the outside moulding to waterproof it, and in my case I ran 1/2"OD rubber hose around the inside as a gasket. Screw in the inner frame and your done [ecept for the headliner I don't have.]
HOOD VENTS
Hood vents go in basically the same way. Draw the outline, drill a pilot, cut out the panels, insert the vents, fasten them down, go drink a beer! First - Remove the hood and support it on something padded so you don't scratch the finish. I use vents from old Chrysler New Yorkers. Make a vent template out of cardboard by setting the vent on it, press down to make an impression, and cut it out with a razor knife. Set the template on the hood [mind its orientation!] 1" from the center beam and draw the outline. Drill a 1/2" hole at each corner but be carefull! The bit will want to grab the sheet metal when it pokes through and you WILL wrinkle the hood so use high speed and low force. Flip the template over and do the same on the other side. Now use a jigsaw and connect the dots! Cut inside the lines because you can always file the edges if its too small.
For fasteners, I cut 1"x2" squares from the scrap and bent them into a "C" shape, drilled a 1/8" hole through them, and ran some small machine screws through the vents. You could seal the vents with RTV but I didn't.
WOO HOOO!!

Yea! Vents and a sunroof?! Waaay Cool!
