TAMPONS BREAK UP

Yes, you read correctly. The hipcore duet group Throwing Tampons has ended their journey into musical success. The twosome, Amber Tripp Kennedy and Jessica Jas Brockmann called it quits February 8th, only about a month after forming the band. Why, you may be asking? This has been a question we all have been pondering.

Some say the relationship between bassist Matt PinkieP Matson and guitarist Tanar Stalker came to a sad and angry end, breaking the tight bond the band had formed. But upon closer investigation, the odds of this causing the end of the band are slim to none. Others have heard rumors of a raging argument between Tripp, who has a history of agrevated outbursts, and the band's manager, Becky Johnson over the flaming romance of her and actor Johnny Depp, which ended in the hospitalization of Johnson. But why might Tripp be angry over this when she herself has, in recent weeks, snagged the sexy frontman of the band AFI, Davey Havok? Have they, too, broken up? The world may never know.

But one thing is sure, though. Trip and Jas have definately broken up. We've tried repeatedly to interview both of these girls, but they have declined, sometimes with intense frustration and anger. We did, though, get a chance to briefly speak with several trusted sources, supposedly very close with the band. A long time friend of the band, who wishes to remain anonymous, states the break up was "due to a strenuous bitch, who's always on her period." Who might this person be speaking of? One of the frontwomen of Throwing Tampons? A certain ex-member of the band? Or maybe it was the mysterious "Candypants," who the band insulted in their debut song, "Buffalo/Cow/Horse/Zebra."

In more recent times, we've actually gotten the opportunity to speak to PinkiP, who, although looks quite intelligent, is just as dumbfounded as the rest of us. He did, though, give us his opinion on the break up, stating, "Well, it's tragic. I really didn't see it coming. It was going fine, and the next day Jas and Tripp were pissed at each other, and it just fell then." We've gathered that the break up was due not to his relationship with Stalker (although he did not want it to interfere with the band), but to the vicious arguments shared between Tripp and Jas. Remind you of the old high school days? PinkieP seems to think so, too: "I think that since I forgot what they fought about, they need to drop it, 'cause it's silly. And they need to apologize and make out - I mean make up, and have fun. That's what the band was about - fun and music."

PinkieP isn't the only one who favors a reunion. We also spoke with the estranged third frontwoman of the band, Ashley Lieb, who joined the band in the very beginning, but broken friendships soon kicked her out. In her opinion, the break up was, "because people listen to too much sh*t, and let things that other people say get to them." What "sh*t" might she be speaking of? We're still unsure. When speaking with this young girl, I sensed that she was almost a bit jealous of the other two girls. It almost seemed that she longed to be in the band, as well. When asked of her opinion on a reunion, she said, "Well, I would like to be involved, but if that is not an option, I would like to see the other people work things out. I mean, all great bands have comebacks, right?" Fair enough. It's good to see the band still has supporters, even though they're no longer a band. Lieb encourages not only Throwing Tampons to reunite, but also Tripp's in-the-works band with the infamous BoomMastaRay to "go for it."

All recent attempts to interview Becky Johnson have been turned down, so unfortunately we are still left with an unclear picture of the real reason why the band broke up. But at least now all you confused fans have somewhat of an idea of what has happened to our favorite girl hipcore group, Throwing Tampons, and what may insue in the not too distant future.
