"Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou" (also known as "His and Her Circumstances" or "Kare Kano" for short) by Masami Tsuda was an 18-volume manga that ran in LaLa from 1999 and is still currently running in Japan. In 2000, Gainax made it into a twenty-six episode anime, directed by the famous Neon Genesis Evangelion director Hideaki Anno. The manga began being released as "Kare Kano" in the United States by Tokyopop in 2003 and is still ongoing today. The anime series was released by Right Stuf under the name "His and Her Circumstances." Yukino Miyazawa is the epitome of perfection; she's intelligent, beautiful, popular, a great athlete... but only her family knows the truth. Miss Miyazawa is a fraud. She's really a crazed egomaniac who will stop at nothing to be loved by everyone around. She's been the same way since elementary school and has never had a rival for number one. Enter Soichiro Arima. Soichiro is everything Yukino is; attractive, smart, popular, athletic and Yukino's declared war on him.
