"Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" was originally published in Nakayoshi magazine in 1992. It was an instant hit, and was made into an anime series soon after. It produced millions of dollars in merchandise and lasted five TV series, three movies, three TV specials and countless volumes of manga. Most recently, Sailor Moon was made into a twenty-six episode live action TV series in Japan.
Fourteen-year-old Usagi Tsukino is a klutzy crybaby who gets terrible grades and loves to eat. In other words, she's quite the unlikely heroine. But despite that, one day, she meets a black cat with a crescent moon marking on it's forehead. She saves the cat from some children and continues to run to school [arriving late]. Later that day, the same cat appears in her window. However, this time, the cat speaks to her - explaining her name is Luna and she has been sent to find Sailor Moon, a warrior who's job is to find the Moon Princess. Luckily, Sailor Moon just happens to be Usagi...
