Dear Barry, |
Hi, It?s Gary I have came to the New World for about 6 months now but I have lost track. Is everything ok at home? Are you getting enough pay? Does your salary provide enough food for mom and dad and the rest of the family? |

We have spotted a place to build our town. We built it next to a big rock, which is the biggest rock on the land. We traveled on the great ship ?Mayflower.? It landed on the share of the New World. We have spotted a few natives and they kept coming for the past two weeks. They were animal fur; they had bows and arrows; and they walked around half naked. We started to establish a friendship with the Wampanag Indian tribe. We had made a treaty with the Wampanoag chief Massasoit, a promise of peace to between them and us. |

Over the months we tried to plant some fruits and vestibules but none of them seemed to be growing. The weather in the New World was different from the weather that we were use to back home in England. After a few weeks many of us were starving and got sick. An Indian named Squanto, who came to help us. He tough us how to plant the native fruit which had green leaves and yellow on the inside. The fruit was called ?corn.? He also taught us how to fertilize the seeds by using fish. He showed us that we should put the fish with in the corn in order to fertilize he corn. When it was tie to harvest the corn it looked tall, long, and green. It was the fruit that saved us from starvation. I will always welcome you with open hands |
