The Immigration officer
Before you came to the United States, you needed to be checked by a doctor to be sure that you are okay.  If you were not okay, you needed to hop right back to that boat because in America, we don't want any sick people that would make us get sick too. We have many important things in America, and the Statue of Liberty symbolizes a great international friendship. The statue is the symbol of freedom and opportunities for immigrants, and for the whole wide world.

The federal government decides to constructed a new federally operated immigration Station on Ellie Island, while the new station on Ellie Island was under construction. Ellie Island opened its door on January 1, 1892. In that year a fifteen-year old lass from Ireland with the name Annie Moore accompanied by her two brothers enter a new country, they made history because they were the first immigrants to be processed at Ellis Island.

 Millions of people from other lands made this land their homeland because in America, they found what they were always looking for and that was a new home for them and their families. Before you entered, you needed to wait in the Registry Room to be checked by a doctor.  The officer had to register the immigrant into America if they were healthy. By 1892 to 1954, over twelve million immigrants entered the United States though the port of Ellis Island. Through the year, this gate to a new beginning was increasingly more and more.
