On Eagle's Wings
Based on Psalm 91
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord: "My refuge,
My rock in whom I trust!"
CHORUS
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand.
The snare of the fowler
Will never capture you.
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His wings your refuge
His faithfulness your shield.
CHORUS
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand.
For to His angels He's given a command
To guard you in all of your ways.
Upon their hands they will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against the stone.
CHORUS
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand.
And hold you in the palm of His hand.

On Sunday January 16, 2000 this Psalm was beautifully sung in church, as a prayer for a friend beginning a battle with breast cancer. It was an emotional morning as prayers of thanksgiving were offered to the Lord for His great mercies in answering so many prayers for safety and success in her surgery. With surgery now behind, and chemotherapy ahead, it will be a year of trial for sure, but faithful is He, and He will be that shelter and refuge for her.
Godspeed you to cure Cathy!
