Participated in a pretty good Council meeting the week of 12/17/01 also held PASS Representative training after the meetings which Chapter 126 Louis Ratliff and PASS Region 1 RVP Ron Medeiros sponsored. Ron and Maureen were in attendance at the council meeting and gave an overview of a Regional MOA to address mandatory half hour lunch periods. Which we hope soon will be signed and there will be no more mandatory lunch periods for safetly related positions. As soon as I receive additional information I will post it here.
A DLT meeting was held in Indianapolis the week of 2/28/02, I was unfortunate enough to contract that nasty flu virus that was going around that week and missed all but the last day. Ken Miller was there however and he thought the meeting was very informative, lots of candor, honesty, and clarification on several subjects. Meeting minutes click below:

We resolved comments and reached a Collaboration Agreement with XOA/SMO management on 11/29/01. Hopefully this document and the intent behind it will be the way management and the union will conduct business, if not, we always have other methods to achieve fairness and equitability with the agency.

The following MOA's and agreements have been reached concerning FY-2002 POC and ZID/ARTCC Functional Alignment. The FY-02 POC reflects the authorized positions within the SMO for FY-02 but the union considers these levels as the base not a limit. We continue to point out these position levels provide minimal coverage when you consider they are only 60-70 percent of what truely is required by the agencies own staffing standards.

Great Lakes Region DLT was held 8/25-8/27 meeting minutes are posted below. I can tell you that it was another very good meeting and we are still pleased with the Division leadership and direction. I also had a chance to meet with some PASS members from the O'Hare area and really appreciated the invite to their union meeting and their insight on a wide range of issues. THANKS 106 !!!

Several resolutions have been agreed upon and are located below. XOA/PASS has committed to trying this collaborative process once again and are close to reaching an agreement that will address this commitment on both sides. Hopefully we can get it done this time with management meeting us halfway.

Old Information:
AGL/DLT meeting held June 5-8 was a very good one and we all had a chance to meet the new Division Manager Maureen Woods. I can say everyone was very impressed with Maureen's engaging personality and take charge attitude which for me seemed to be lacking before.
Two important issues that will be resolved were Regional support of AWS with a jointly signed letter by Maureen and Ron to this effect. MOA's as a way to document changes and negotiations between PASS and management. Weekly telcons that mean something and quarterly meetings that will be held throughout the Region. I have to say the PASS side of the house is extremely hopeful and pleased with the direction the new Divisional management team is taking.

PASS participates in local Indianapolis news story on Channel 6, WRTV, an ABC affiliate. The story concerned the power outages experienced at Indianapolis (ZID)ARTCC. NATCA requested our participation and as an ongoing project to make contact with local media we agreed to participate. We are also reaching out to all the local media outlets. You can read the transcripts of this two part story and view it at the following links:

I encourage all PASS Representatives to contact their local television and newspaper media and establish a point of contact for them. You can obtain a media package from the PASS National web site. While you cannot control what they use or say you can ensure they get the story correct and give this Union a voice that hasn't been adequately heard in the past. Good luck !
Please click on the below listed files to read the latest documents and meeting minutes. You can provide comments concerns to my email address: Email-XOA SMO Rep I will not post comments pertaining to fellow bargaining unit members, period. I encourage all bargaining unit members to participate in addressing and resolving issues within the workplace. Hopefully you will find this web site informative and assist each of us to achieve a true "model work environment".
