Before you start. . .

Before going through the training, one most complete a two-year pre-veterinary course requirements are normally met in an Arts, Science or Agriculture program at a college or university. These requirements involve appropriate course work in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, English, Genetics, Math or Statistics, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and electives.

Most candidates attend a major university. Such as The University of British Columbia (UBC) which offers a Pre-Veterinary Medicine program that can be completed through the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. University College of the Cariboo (UCC) also offers a Pre-Veterinary Medicine program that prepares students for entry into the WCVM. For the most part, due to course scheduling, this program normally takes longer than two years. For those who are looking forward to be a vet, be prepare for a long-term study!
