Pregnancy

       July 7- (10 weeks) Matt & I met our new doctor (Dr. Elizabeth Kvale), she is very nice. She took blood and will run a bunch of tests and also checked my uterus, she thought I might be only 8 weeks, but I told her I am very sure of my dates. So she thought she might schedule an ultrasound to check my due date. Baby's aprox measurements: Length-   1 1/4 in head to toe. Weight-   too tiny. Heard heart beat around 140 bpm. Weighed in at 125 lbs. We also recieved a lot of information on expecting!
           August 4- (14 weeks) BEGAN 2nd TRIMESTER AT 12 WEEKS!! I took Brandon with me, but he wouldn't help Dr. Kvale when she listened to the heart beat, maybe next time. Kind of a boring apt. She said she would like to see me gaining weight, since I wieghed the same as last time. Asked if I was feeling ok. I asked if I had a weight limit as in lifting, she said no. She also asked if wanted to do the AFP test which will tell you if the baby has Downs or Spina Bifida, the test is often wrong and she said with my age and already having 1 healthy child my chances of having a child like that are very slim. So I decided not to take that test. Baby's aprox measurements: Length-   4 1/2 in or 11 cm. Weight-   45 gm. Heart beat rate around 140 bpm. Weighed in at 125 lbs.
         September 6- ( 19 weeks) I took Brandon with me again. Nothing to exciting.   Gained some weight, boo hoo! Decided to take AFP test, will go over results at next apt. Scheduled ultrasound for Fri September 8 (look back here later for picture). Listened to the heartbeat & that was about it. Baby's aprox measurements: Length-   8 in or 20 cm. Weight-   8 oz. or 240 gm. Heart rate 150 bpm.   Weighed in at 131 lbs.
             September 16- Dr. Kvale's office called, everything on Ultrasound looks good. Due dated moved up from January 29 to the 23. AFP test came back good. All good news.
             October 29-   (25 weeks) Regular check up, boring! Gained more weight, boo hoo. Dr. Kvale gave my a Rx for Amoxicillin because of UTI. Although no S/S. Baby's aprox measurements:    Length- 11 3/4 in or 30 cm. Weight- 700 gm. Heart rate 150. Weighed in at 140 lbs.
               November 14-   (30 weeks) BEGAN 3RD TRIMESTER AT 27 WEEKS!! Took GTT test, glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes. Was tested for anemia. Drew blood to make sure I have the Rh factor. All test came back fine. Will go 11-14-00 for Rh shot. Gained more weight. Measuuring right on time. Baby's aprox measurements: Length- 14 in. or 36 cm.   Weight- 1300 gm or 3 lbs. Heart rate- 140 bpm Weighed in at 145 lbs.

           November 29- (32 weeks) I saw Barb Tieman today. She is a Nurse Practioner. Gained only 1 1/2 lbs. Fondus measuring at about 30 weeks. Listened to heartbeat. Baby's aprox measurements: Length- 15 1/4 in. or 39 cm. Weight-   1700 gm or 3lbs. 12oz. Heart rate 150 bpm.   Weighed in at 146.5 lbs. :(
                 NEWS Had a "surprise" baby shower on 11-24-00. I was so surprised. Thank you to everyone envolved in the planning and to all who gave the baby new gifts!! Thank you!! Also on 11-26-00 I took out my belly ring. I couldn't take it anymore. The baby's room is just about ready. I have all the clothes washed & put away. The crib is up, just waiting on a matress. Will probally start packing my hospital bag in a few weeks.
                 December 13- (34 weeks) Same old apt. Fondus measured 32. Baby is head down. Dr. Kvale asked me what I was thinking about using for pain medication during labor, I told her I wasn't thinking of any, since I didn't use any with Brandon. Baby's aprox measurements:   Length- 16 in or 41 cm.   Weight-    4 lbs 9 oz or 2100 gms. Heart rate 140. Weighed in at 149 lbs
                 December 29-   (36 weeks) My apt. was Dec 28, but got the times screwed up. Fondus measuring 34. Still a little behind. When listening to the heart beat, the batteries died:(   Dr. Kvale couldn't tell if baby's head was down this time, if she still can't at next apt she will order another ultrasound.   Another Rx for Amoxicillin because of UTI. Baby's aprox measurements: Lenth- 17 1/4 in or 44 cm. Weight- 5 lbs 9 oz or 2500 gms. Heart rate ??? Weighed in at 151 lbs.
                  January 12, 2001-   (38 weeks)   FULL TERM!!   Baby's head is down, but not engaged. Dialated to 1 cm. Took Group Strep B test. Measuring average. Weighed the same! :o)   Baby's aprox measurements: Length- 18.5 in or 48.5 cm    Weight- 6 1/1 lbs or 2900 gms. Heart rate 160bpm Weighed in at 151 lbs.
                   January 19, 2001-   (39 weeks) Strep B test came back fine. Measuring right on time. No internal, will do one next week. Baby's aprox measurements: Length- 19 in. or 35 cm. Weight- 3150 gms or 7 lbs. Heart rate 140 bpm Weighed in at 154 lbs.
