LANSING HIGH SCHOOL

CONCURRENT COLLEGE-HIGH ENROLLMENT

LHS has several opportunities for students to earn college credits while attending LHS. These classes can be during summer vacation or evenings. If a student wishes to take a day class at the Leavenworth Center they can adjust their high school classes to work it in. KCKCC accepts some of our classes as college credits if a student pays the college fees and meets the following requirements. Saint Mary College Saint Mary offers classes for seniors only if they meet the course prequisites. If a class meets during the LHS school day a senior can adjust their high school classes to work it in. The fees for the Saint Mary classes are adjusted for high school students. The student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

STUDENT PLANNING AND ENROLLMENT

  1. 1. Your abilities, interests, special needs, goals, and plans are all necessary factors to be considered when enrolling. Completing a curriculum plan before you select courses each year will assist your choices.
  2. 2. Your parents, teachers, counselors, and this handbook are all available to help you with decisions on: how and when you will meet the minimum graduation requirements; which courses are necessary and/or desirable for continued education after high school; and which courses provide necessary or helpful background preparation for specific occupations or general career areas.
  3. 3. Since there are (7) seven periods, you will need to choose courses to fill(7) seven period slots for each semester. In addition, identify (3) three alternate courses in case of scheduling conflicts.
