01.02.02 - Ones to watch
If you're a fan of r&b you need to be on the
lookout for Brandy's forthcoming album
"full moon" this album is going to be heavy
trust! By now you've probably heard the
single "what about us" (check out our
Video's section to watch the full video
or listen to the track) but it's one of
many phat cut's from the album.
Brandy again teamed up with Rodney
Jerkins for much of the record and
said of their working relationship that
"Me and Rodney? That's just a match
made in heaven," she enthuses.
"We've both changed a lot over the
years. And we bumped heads a lot
cause Rodney thinks he knows
everything and I think I know
everything, too. But he is one of my
best friends and we have that chemistry. Besides, I think when people have strong opinions the best work comes out of that."
26.01.02 - Mariah Threatens to sue!
The latest in the Mariah saga is that her lawyer has threatened her former record label Virgin/Emi with a lawsuit with regards to their statement that said they had terminated her contract. Lawyer Marshall Grossman said that the word "terminated" was in direct violation of their agreement as both sides agreed to use the word "cancelled" Emi/Virgin have said they will counter-sue if he proceeds with legal action on grounds of "inflammatory statements" In the meantime it is believed that Arista had shown interest in signing Carey but this was supposedly vitoed by Whitney Houston who felt that there was only room for one Diva at her label!!!

Mariah Carey Hits Back!!!
Well if you didn't already know Mariah Carey has parted ways with her record Company Virgin/Emi, but in a bizarre twist Carey's people are now claiming that EMI did not terminate the agreement by themselves. The statement made by Carey's publicist Cindi Berger also states that the total payment for Mariah Carey is a more substantial $49m,
A press release from Berger, titled 'EMI Issues False Statement' reads: "As stated in the joint press release of Mariah Carey and EMI/Virgin Records, the agreement between the two was amicably terminated with benefits to and for Mariah Carey of $49 million for the one album she delivered. The release of EMI, independently issued by it, is in direct violation of the agreement between the parties. It is also false. It states that EMI itself terminated the agreement. Not true. It fails to state that the total package for Mariah Carey is $49 million."
