Baseball Gods put the Kibosh on play this past weekend |
Both games were cancelled due to inclimate weather. The Friday game with St. Joe will not be made up and no make up has been scheduled at this time for the Pearl Lake game. The Express will be in Dassel Wednesday night taking on the Saints at 7:30 and battling the Blues in Litchfield at beautiful Optimist Park Friday night at 7:30. |
The Express was very happy to see everyone who came out for the Mothers Day Dinner Sunday at the Playland Ballroom. Over 500 people were served a delicious spread that was prepared by a top notch Playland Ballroom staff. A very big thank you goes out to all that attended. Special thanks goes out to Dennis and Jan Schmitz along with everyone on the Playland staff that makes this dinner happen year after year. |
Outfield Wall Getting Finishing Touch |
Saturday was not only Kimball?s city wide garage sale day it was a day where the Express players and volunteer workers started slapping on the finishing touches of the outfield wall down at the local diamond. |
The backside of the wall is being completed first for the simple fact that the braces need to be in place for stability and support of the wall. A sharp looking navy blue is the color of choice for the fence with it being outlined in a gray trim. If you take a stroll down to Willow Creek Park you will be able to see what the finished fence will look like as the back side of the fence is very visible driving down to the park. The inside of the fence should be completed this Saturday. |
With the completion of the wall the only two obstacles in the way of playing on the field this summer. One is for the grass to come in thicker and the other is ag-lime to be put down on the warning track in the outfield. Anyone interested in donating a load of ag-lime to the field please call Tom Marquardt at 398-6731 or contact any member of the Express. |
