Anniversary Date - A member's anniversary date is the enrollment date on her membership application
Chapter Member - A member whose national annual dues and monthly chapter dues are current
Charter Member - A member who is affiliated with a new ABWA chapter or Express Network when it is installed.
Councils - Groups of chapters, Express Networks and members in local, metropolitan or regional areas that meet periodically to facilitate the exchange of ideas and build recognition for ABWA.
Express Network Member - A membership option for accomplished, career-minded businesswomen, comprised of streamlined meetings focused on management-level educational programs, networking, and online networking through the Express Network Web site
Inactive Member - A member whose national annual dues have expired
National Member - Although in theory all members who pay national annual dues are national members, this term generally refers to members who are not affiliated with a chapter/Express network
Reinstatement - An inactive member may reinstate by simply paying the current year's natioanl annual dues. She won't have to meet the membership requirement of employment
Roster - A listing of all active members printed quarterly by National Headquarters
Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF) - A public foundation having the tax status of 501 (c) (3). Fund contributions are tax deductible.
Transfer - A member may choose to transfer from one Express Network to another, without fee, and with the understanding that she will abide by the bylaws and standing rules of the Express Network to which she transfers
