Over the course of one year, Owan's skin changed.  It became very thick and rough like sandpaper.  It took on the appearance of speckled sand, and the hair on his arms stopped growing.  At the begining of this tranformation, Owan's parents threw him out into the city streets.  He was left to fend for himself.  Young and with no where to go, a gang of mutants took him in.  They taught him how to fight and survive on the streets.  They also gave him the nickname "Rawsh" because of the sound his sandpapery skin made on flesh whenever he struck someone.  He also discovered by merely touching natural sand, he could form it into simples shapes of iron strength glass. Rawsh's time on the streets were not in vain.  He mastered fighting techniques, causing his stocky frame to grow very muscular.  He also earned a reputation as he assumed leadership positions within many different gangs.  Many respected him, many more feared him. He'll follow those who pay the most, good or bad.  Although the bad seem to have more fun and pay the most, Rawsh's loyalties lie with no one.
