Mike's Testimony

As a young man at 21 years of age, I consider myself, not only privileged, lucky and blessed but extremely grateful and appreciative.  Not because of my lifestyle, possessions or education, but because I had two wonderful people shape and mold me into who I am today.

Lee and Miltinnie Yih are the names of my parents.  Not only are they the most marvelous parents anyone could hope for but they are great people.  Their lives have been a testimony to every person that comes in contact with them.  The story of their marriage and salvation is an amazing testimony for the Lord.  I am proud to have these two people, who are used by the Lord, as my parents.

As I grow older, I think more and more about becoming a father myself.  I am unsure of myself and nervous at the thought of parenthood.  If I could have one wish, I would wish that I would be at least half the parent my parents have proven to be.  I cannot begin to describe the effort, love, care and time invested in me throughout the years of my development.  I think back and realize their support for me was never failing and always abundant.  Sometimes I try to put myself in their shoes.  How can a parent be so supportive, loving and patient, while at the same time, consistently provide a positive example day in and day out?

God has truly blessed my brother, my sister and me.  Raising three children including one mentally autistic and one hyperactive, trouble-making, deviant rascal is not easy!  For this I give my parents eternal credit and love for.

Mom, thank you for being the model of how all mothers should be.  Nothing compares to your patience, love and selflessness.  Your quickness to sacrifice for the greater good and your obedience to the Lord is encouraging and noble.  You are the backbone of our family and I thank you for the unlimited motherly love that is so rare today.

Dad, your wisdom is much needed in many fathers today.  Our world would be a godly place of integrity and principle if Dads around the world were like you.  All the training, lectures and disciplines you’ve invested in me have paid off.  Nothing in the world can teach me what you can.  You are truly a role model to me and for my future family.

Mom and Dad, congratulations on your 30th anniversary!  Continue to be a shining light to those around you and a beacon of direction for your kids!  God bless you two and may I be a parent like you guys someday.  Love ya!

-Mike
