Political Stance |
Friday, January 25th, 2004 I saw Michael Moore (director of "Bowling for Columbine" "Roger & Me" and writer of Stupid White Men and Dude, Where's My Country?. I originally went just because I thought he was cool as a person and I liked the way he did things; however, I came out knowing more about the things we are lied to about by our government and things I just plain didn't know. I got a picture with Michael, which I will be putting in my pictures section. Also, while there, I met a woman advertising for Dennis Kucinich as President. I talked to her for awhile and got information on him. I like his political stances as well. The next day I went to a rally for him downtown, at the capital. I plan to become a registered voter and vote for him as President. You can learn more about Dennis Kucinich's campaign by going to www.kucinich.us. On another note, I have become interested in a political corporation for seperation of Church and State. That, being the Freedom From Religion Foundation. I like the idea since, after all, that is the basis of this country. America was born under the idea of freedom of religion. It lasted for awhile but obviously not long enough, since we obviously don't have that much seperation. Before seing Michael Moore speek, I was never really very political other than just hating the government and wanting to abolish it with no means of doing so and wanting all the religious bullshit taken off my money and out of court, state, and government as it has had too much base in what was supposed to be a country of freedom. I am still, by no means, patriotic. I hate all those people that turned patriotic after 9-11, I think its fucking retarded that all of a sudden, when you country gets hits with what its partially deserved, that everyone decides they love their country. Ohh, a big rise in the sale of flag for fags (no pun intended)... Big fucking deal. War should not cause patriotism, peace, well-being, happiness, diversity, and good economics should cause patriotism. |
