Destroying Illusions

Watching the screen
In slow motion
Black and white
Confusion all around

Looking at the people
As they pass by
Words and sounds muffled
Movements blurred

Disinterest in surroundings
Not caring anymore
Realizing it’s complete confusion
The grand Illusion of life
Has caught you up inside

Walking around as a shell
No thoughts go through
No one would care
No one would listen

You wonder who you are
Why you are there
What is going on
Why things are the way they are

But nothing is the way it seems
The sounds muffled are not important
What is important is the things not being heard
The movements not being made
Life is the game

A game we all must play
A game we must live through
A game we try to survive
A game we must add color to

A drab life you have lived
Until now when it came to you
All of sudden you realize that life is not as drab
Not as sad
Not as dull

You must add the color to life
The sound must be added
The movements discerned
The confusion cleared.

This illusion of nothingness
Is not an illusion at all
Not a game to play
Not a stage we all walk upon

This grand illusion
Is not an illusion at all
Inside is where life comes from
Wake it up and step out
Step into the world and add the color
Paint the town

Destroy the magic trick
Unplug the crystal ball
Step out of the illusion
Begin to live.
