I Will Love You Forever
By Devibob
Author’s Notes: I wrote this story over a year ago (and posted it somewhere else, although I don’t remember where). It’s old, old, old and hasn’t seen a beta reader. I decided to post it, to see what people would say about it. The idea, I got from a Gundam Wing story, so if the author of that has a problem with me using the idea this story comes down. I am slightly weary of putting this up, because I think it’s too similar to the other story. Warnings: Contains non graphic slash, and the death of a main character ~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@~~~@ Dear Jeff, Hey there, my rainbow. I'm here, to bother you again. Do you really think I would ever leave you alone? I love you too much. Either way, it has been far to long since we last saw each other. I remember the last time I saw you, you looked so peaceful, like an angel with a halo of blood red hair. I'm not the only one who thinks it's been to long. Matt wants to see you again. He misses you more than I could possibly understand. You were his brother, and you just left him. He was hurt by that, by you. He didn't understand what could have made you want to leave the way you did. I know it must have been my fault. I never should have asked you to marry me, even though you did say yes. Maybe if I hadn't, things would be different. Maybe you would still be wrestling, and I would still be worrying over every jump you would take. Who knows, none of that can happen now. Why look back on the past, right. What we had is different from what we have. Time will never change my feelings. I swear I can hear you telling me to move on and get over your sorry butt. I can't do that. I love your sorry butt. I know sometimes I didn't show it, but I always did. Maybe that's why you left me, because I didn't tell you I loved you enough. No I told you. I told you every night you went to sleep curled in my arms. Every morning you woke, and every goddamn time you went out into the ring. I told you how scared I was of losing you to one of your high-risk moves. How scared I was of losing you for any reason. So no, that couldn't have been the reason. Maybe you didn't love me. So you left me, and everyone else in the world that ever cared about you. Was that it, because you didn't return my feelings. Maybe you were scared. Scared to get married to me, because you would be giving up all your freedom. Freedom, something that you craved all your life. I'm not free. I have nightmares every night about you. About the day you left. The note you left. I know it's strange that something like that could be so frightening, to someone like me. I can't help it. I still remember that day, like it was yesterday. No that’s to cliché. I remember it better than that. It's like it's still happening right now. Over and over in my mind, for the rest of my life. That day was supposed to be the happiest day in our lives. The day we were suppose to get married. I remember I went into the kitchen of you home in Cameron, and saw the letter sitting on the table. That letter, I still have it. I read it over four times before my mind understood what it was reading. Still, I didn't believe it. I thought you were pulling a prank. So I went upstairs to your room, to see for myself. And when I walked into the room, I couldn't help my self. I screamed and cried like a baby. I ran out of there and right into Matt. He asked me what was wrong. I couldn't speak, I was crying so hard. So I gave him the letter, which I had been clutching the whole time. He also didn't believe what he was reading, and he looked into the room just tm make sure. He started crying too. He knew you would never come back. But what hurt him more was that his own brother didn't even say goodbye I was so mad at you after that. How could you do that to me. I know you explained all in the note, but sill. It was Our wedding. Something for Us. You ruined Our fucking wedding. I hated you. I wanted to hurt you, like you hurt me. I would never forgive you for what you did. After thinking about it, I realise that I can't hate you forever. So I forgive you. I wish that you hadn't left me. I wish that you could come back. I just want to hold you again. I want to see your smile, hear your voice. I want to run your soft hair through my fingers. I love you, but I know you don't love me. I need you, but I know I can't have you anymore. I hope you’re happy where you are. Yours With love forever and always Chris He set the letter down in the grass, using a small rock to hold it against the breeze, and setting a single red rose next to it. He let his long blond hair fly around his face. Not bothering to brush the tears away, Chris hugged himself for comfort, as he had for the past months, and he would continue to do for months to come. Staring at the single stone marker, he tried to speak, but only a muffled sob came out. He blinked back the tears that threatened to spill forth. Slowly he leaned down and brushed his lips against the smooth cold stone. This time he spoke. The whispered words caught on the wind, to slowly drift up to heaven. "I love you, Jeff." When Chris turned to leave, he felt a soft whisper of breath caress his neck, like a kiss that never happened. Ghostly words drifting past his ears, to soft for him to hear. "I love you too, Chris."
