Don't Laugh At Me
I'm a little boy with glasses,
the one they call a geek,
A little girl who never smiles
cuz I got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels to cry
myself to sleep.
I'm that kid on every playground
who is always chosen last,
A single teenage mother tryin to
overcome my past
You don't have to be my friend,
if it's too much to ask.
Don't laugh at me, don't call me names,
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same,
Some day we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me.
I'm a cripple on the corner,
You pass me on the street
I wouldn't be out here begging if
I had enough to eat,
And don't thing I don't know that
our eyes never meet.
I lost my wife and little boy
someone crossed that yellow line.
The day we laid 'em in the ground
was the day I lost my mind
Right now I'm down to holdin' this
little cardboard sign.
Don't laugh at me, don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same,
Some day we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me.
I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall
I'm deaf, I'm blind, hey aren't we all?
Don't laugh at me, don't call me names,
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes were all the same,
Some day we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me.

Too often children/kids are picked on
for the way they may look, or dress.
Maybe a family doesn't have as much money as another.
Money does not buy love, and the way a person looks does not make one better
than the other.
Parents, teach your children at a young age to love one another, teach them that
a persons values do not come from the way they look or dress.
Some children, teen-agers, and even adults are sometimes to quick to judge another
person, without taking the time to get to know them.
Remember the "golden rule"
"Do Unto Others as You would Have Them Do Unto You"
and please...

"The next time you think you're perfect, try walking on water."
I'm God's little miracle, born into a world of sin.
Though life can be cruel, I get by as best I can.
My heart is so tender, my hopes are in you
To tell me who I am, to guide what I'll be.
My load is heavy, not at all like yours.
Though I may falter, don't close the door.
Created like God, a soul, don't you see?
You laugh at Him when you laugh at me.
