This was all kind of a suprise for my wife and I and we are quickly adjusting to the idea that we are now full time parents. Suday July 17th Kim started to have contractions at 8:00am and they continued on during the day getting progressively closer and stronger. At about 6:30 or 7:00 pm they were close enough to warrant going to the hospital. However, when the nurse check my wife, she said that she wasn't dialated enough and it would probably be at least a week or even longer. We were kind of bummed, and so we almost didn't go the the Doctors appointment on Monday, but in the end we decided to. Well, when the doctor was checking to see the amount of dialation and effacement, She suddenly said that she could feel the baby's feet, the baby was breech. We had an ultrasound and confirmed the prognosis, and the doctor asked us if we would like to be a mom and dad today. This caused my eyes to grow to the size of large plates and Kim to get a bit shakey(We had prepared ourselves for another week or more, not less than 24 hours later). They made a couple of unsuccessful attempts to turn the baby. The Doctor and nurse almost had him turned with both of them holding and pushing, yet when the doctor took off one hand to check their progress, David did a 180 and even caused the nurse to exclaim,"How did he do that?" Needless to say, they ended up performing a c-section and we had our child. So going in less then four hours of going in for a "routine" visit, we had our child, and we are still amazed at how quickly it all happened
