Salamence
lvl.35 lvl.50
Salamance is the second semi-OOber of the R\S series. It's type is Dragon\Flying so other then Metagross it is affected by the x4 weakness rule for semi-OObers (the other semi-OObers have x4 weakness to one type too). It's main power lies in it's attack, but it's special attack isn't that bad also. The problem with Salamence is that it has a sweeperish movepool. The only non-attacking move that is completly safe is Toxic, all other may not work because of different situations, or can even give your opponent an adventage like in the case of Rain Dance which you can have to power-up your Hydro Pump. It can just make an Ice Beaming Milotic kill half of your team, and it allows Glalie to come out too, as your Flamethrower is weaker. But Salamence can obtain Dragon Dance through breeding, which makes it a really formidable pokemon. Now, the reason why it is here, in the patient pokemon shrine, is simple. This pokemon hold a dream in it's heart ever since it was a Bagon, the dream to soar high among the clouds. In it's first form it's quite depressed that it doesn't have wings, but it never gives up trying to fly, so it jumps of cliffs to start flying. It's sheer determination allows it's cells to mutate, and create magnificent wings that make it's wish come true. At first I thought that it's just a good-only-for-battling thing like Slaking, but as I got to know it better I accepted and even started to like it, even if it was used only for it's power.

Interesting fact: Salamence's japanese name is Boomanda, sounds explosive, doesn't it?
