Snorlax is a basic pokemon with no evolutions. It's best stats are attack and special defense, and as almost all the normal types it has a nice HP. One of the most common Snorlax moveset is a special tank one that abuses amnesia to make Snorlax's special defense even better than it is already. The most popular moveset uses curse though, making Snorlax very hard to kill as his only weakness is a physical one. All Snorlaxs that have curse are called curslaxes. Some people also use the Belly Drum\Rest combo, which even if a bit risky, can power up Snorlax greatly. The first time we see Snorlax in the anime, is when Ash and co. help a villiage that has a problem with water. After beeing awaken by the poke flute, Snorlax eats all the vines that stop the river from flowing, and goes to sleep again! Later on, in the orange lague, Snorlax gets into an orange eating frenzy and the heroes must stop him. None of the attacks from the pokemon seem to work on Snorlax though and he continues to eat the oranges happily. In the end, Jigglypuff catches up with the team and makes Snorlax fall asleep with everyone else on the island. Before falling asleep, Ash throws a pokeball and suceeds to catch Snorlax. Many may think that Snorlax is more lazy then patient, but I don't think so, before he can eat again, Snorlax must wait for a few days, and since he loves eating, he will go to sleep rather than wait. the last time we see Snorlax in battle is in the Silver Conference where it beats a few of Gary's pokemon.
