Army  96R--Ground Surveillance Systems Operator  
Major duties. The ground surveillance systems operator supervises or operates ground surveillance systems engaged in intelligence and information gathering.
(1) Skill Level 1. Operates and performs operator maintenance on ground surveillance systems, organic communications equipment, light wheeled vehicles, and power sources. Assists in emplacement, camouflage, and recovery of ground surveillance systems and associated equipment. Detects, locates, and reports target data by interpreting ground surveillance system information.
(2) Skill Level 2. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level and provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Provides tactical and technical guidance in team area of operations. Assists in planning surveillance missions using maps, aerial photographs, terrain studies, and intelligence reports. Prepares overlays and surveillance cards. Supervises emplacement operations and maintenance of ground surveillance systems and associated equipment.

Navy Operations Specialist OS 
General Info: Function as plotters, radio-telephone and Command and Control sound-powered telephone talkers and maintain Combat Information Center (CIC) displays of strategic and tactical information. Operate surveillance and altitude radars' Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and associated equipment. Serve as Air Traffic Controllers for helicopters and fixed-wing supersonic jet aircraft. Serve as watch supervisors and section leaders; interpret and evaluate presentations and tactical situations and make recommendations to supervisors during watch conditions. Apply a thorough knowledge of doctrine and procedures applicable to CIC operations contained in U. S. Navy Instructions and Allied or U.S. Navy Publications and procedures necessary for radar navigation contained in Naval Oceanographic Office publications. Provide to the command technical information and assistance related to Anti-Surface Warfare, Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Amphibious Warfare, Mine Warfare, Naval Gunfire Support, and search and rescue operations, and other matters pertaining to the Operations Specialist's area.

(NEC)  OS-0342 Global Command and Control System Common Operational Picture/Maritime (GCCS COP/M) Operator
Description of NEC: Performs Joint Services and Navy specific applications and processes. Manages C4I information; database management functions, communications operations and Force Over-the Horizon Track Coordinator (FOTC) functions, utilizing the Unified Build (series) software. Training is accomplished using hardware and software currently installed in the fleet.

(NEC)  OS-0345 Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS)/Multi-Mission Mobile Processor (M3P) System Operator/Maintainer
Description of NEC: Responsible for processing and dissemination of real time warning of tactical ballistic missile (TBM) launches, Slow Walkers and other significant tactical events (The M3P’s will also have some strategic capability). Processes data from up to three Defense Support Programs (DSP) or Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellites which link directly to theater tactical communication systems for timely and accurate launch locations information, impact area prediction and threat position/velocity data to support early warning, targeting, alerting, and cueing requirements for all services. Also responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and performing low level maintenance on antenna relays and interfaces, computers, and self-contained communications devices. Responsible for the transport (March Order), and emplacement of a 8x8x20 ft, C-141 deployable shelter and associated equipment.
