A LOOK AT 2007 /2008

New Year of 2007 found us in the Bahamas where we enjoyed the company of good friends. We then moved on to Jamaica, the Colombian Island of Providencia sailing in company with ‘Kindred Spirit’. Stopping at San Andreas we moved on to Central America where we visited Bocas Del Torro in Panama and joined Ed & Ellen with Entr’acte in the San Blas Islands cruising together, stopping at Portobelo, the Rio Chagres and Colon.

We transited the Panama Canal in May stopping at the Las Perlas Islands, the Western Coast of Panama, then onto to Costa Rica where we said goodbye to Entr’acte. After three months of ‘Wet Season’ cruising we moved north to the Bay of Fonseca visiting Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Once in Guatemala we spent ten days touring inland visiting Antigua, Chichicastenango and Lake Atitlan; thus completing our Central American tour.

November we entered Mexico, cruised the coast north crossing the infamous Tehuantepec, stopping at Zihuatanejo where we travelled 72 hours on the Mexican busses to Arizona to see friends and picked up our new mainsail, completing the year in Las Hasdas, Mazanillo.    We covered 2483.2 miles and used the motor for 453.3 hours. We made lots of friends whom we keep in touch with and enjoyed most of the bays we anchored in but would have preferred a little bit more favourable wind!

Jan  2008  saw us cruising up the mainland coast of Mexico arriving in La Paz, Bahia California. early February. We had friends Ron & Leslie stay on board Mr John for a short holiday during which we cruised some of the islands close by; after which we crusied north into 'Baja' visiting many wonderful bays and small towns along the way.

Mid April the Pacific was calling...............
