The songs of Um kalthoum were and are still the well of Patriotism in the whole Arab countries and Egypt. These songs have motivated us during these hard days and had helped us a lot and had moved all the Arab and Egyptain masses and the populaces to stand opposite to the Anglo-French aggression...
No person can deny, that these songs and the voice of Um kalthoum, were and will remain the symbols of resisitance and Patriotism... Um kalthoum had contributed more than any other Egyptian artist, to flame up the feelings during every hard time we have faced in Egypt... One particular song of hers was the motivation to every combatant - military or political fighter - and person... not only in Egypt but also in the whole Arab countries .. "Wallah Zaman Ya Selahy"... This song had shaped the destiny and personality of the youth as well as the older generations for long years to com....
That song had become the symbol of fighting for freedom and consequentlly it had become to be the Egyptian National Anthem for several years.... It was replaced by another peaceful song "Blady Blady"... after the signing of the peace treatyt with Israel.....

The most famous song was " Ya Gamal Ya Habib ElMalayeen< " which was dedicated to President Nasser himself and has become the symbol song of the Nasser Era and the fighting against any foreign aggression and remained until President Nasser's sudden death end September 1970...
