About Us

Yaki kennel was established by Rudyard and Mary Jane S. Chua Sing  on January 7, 1997. It was in an all- breed dog show organized by the Philippine Canine Club Inc. (PCCI) that their attention was caught by a shih tzu that entered the show. And it was during this show that brother and sister decided to own and breed a show quality shih tzu that will establish their kennel trademark name,"Yaki".

The First Pair

Their first pair of Yaki Shih tzus were local born Philippine Champions, named Achilles Hi-time Dragonlord, a.k.a. ";Harry " and Dragonlord Tittle Tattle, a.k.a. "Teta ".

Under Yaki Kennel Harry finished with a Philippine Grand Champion title and Teta with a Philippine Champion title.

They produced two Philippine Grand Champions from their first litter: Yaki of Chins God of Beauty, a.k.a. Venus (Philippine Grand Champion) and Yaki of Chins God of Love, a.k.a. ";Puti" (Hall of Famer, Best in Show winner, Philippine Grand Champion). Puti has become the first local born Shih tzu to win Best in Show in an all breed dog show of PCCI.

Yaki Shihtzu

In order to achieve consistency and recognition in the show ring, Yaki Kennel practices line breeding with their dogs.Quality and high standards are important at Yaki Kennel, and the dedication required to attain their goals is evident in their success.

Yaki shih tzus are lively, affectionate, friendly and have outstanding temperaments. They have large, broad, round heads with large round eyes and a warm trusting expression. Yaki shih tzus are well-bodied with sound straight front legs, level toplines, well angulated rears,and beautiful tail sets. Their gait is effortless, smooth and flowing with heads and tails held high, with coats long and luxurious.
